There are a lot of factors that play into that. How late is it in the IFA signing period? What is your IFA scouting budget? What is your prospect budget--how much can you transfer and how much are you willing to transfer? What is the status of the amatuer draft, how many picks do you have, where are your picks, and what is your draft style (aggresive/conservative)? Is this is a big position of need?

Any time I see 100s, I assume the scouting budget isn't where it needs to be...even if he is 80% of that, seems well worth a 15+ investment

If the projections are 20% off, he's not even a BL pitcher.

Let's say they're 100% correct. He's probably a #3. I'd pay 10-12m. He'll go for 20m.

If there are 7+ teams that can already outspend you you might as well try to get a guy like this at the 10-15M range.

he's worth whatever the market says he's worth. If somebody wants to pay $50M, that's what he's worth. If everybody decides to spend 50K, that's what he's worth. What should You spend? Depends how much you have, but for primo IFAs it's pretty standard to spend 100% of whatever you have all at once

62 projected VR? One dollar.

70 VsL and 62 VsR? Someone will give him between 8 and 10. I agree with mike. I'd never take a flyer on him unless I had 2 million somewhere I wanted to get rid of.
