Player distribution total Topic

what is a ballpark number to shoot for when filling out player distribution? For each player and for total amount of distribution. I try to keep my total around 60%

I use 100 total, guys use different combinations. No wrong way really as long as it gives a desired result.

Yeah, what Beach said. There's not really a wrong answer. It's all relative. I use 80. So for me, a player with 15 or 16 distro is on the high end. Distribution is all about trial and error. You just have to figure out what works best for you with the players you have.

I give each player on my teams anywhere from 1 - 5. Team total is usually anywhere from 29-32.

I change my distro every game. Sometimes I have 4 guys at 1, other times I have 8 guys with distro ranging from 1-4.

the key to distro is the propprtion between the guys on the floor at any given moment - it isnt a full roster concept.

I tend to run with total distro between 60 and 80. The total doesnt matter but keeping it below 100 makes it easier to adjust distro - if I want to give one or two players some extra distro in a particular game and my total is 70 I can just bump there number up. If my total is 100, I have to reduce distro for other players

I use 75.

Just to piggy back on this question, what is the expected result of zero distribution? Will that allow a more free-flowing offense that only looks for the best shot?

I'm not sure how the coding works, but distribution automatically makes me think of forcing shots for players who aren't always open.

been ages since I tested zero distro, but the safe assumption is that your players will behave the way SIM AI players behave - which is generally not what you want

I've been using 0 all season in Hawaii fwiw.

I was thinking about testing a "binary" system where a player is either a 1 or 0. 1 for players that I want to shoot, and 0 for players that I don't, obviously. But I think that will help to eliminate some of the random SIM-AI decisions, yet still allow for the zero distribution result.

beachhouse,
Do you have zero distribution often? What have been your experiences/results?

This is actually my first time using it. I only kept it that way because I just took the team on. I am just getting through this season in order to start fresh with my own guys next season.

You are better off setting them all to 1. If you set them all to zero, the sim ignores the 3 pt settings and ****** guys will take 3's.

fwiw, using all zeros (. Or 1s) n a motion or fastbreak isn't a horrendous idea, it's certainly suboptimal but not horrendous. Doing it in flex or triangle is not using one of the benefits that is built into the offensive system.

My favorite thing to do is to lower my distro for my better players in easy matchups (usually conference sims) to try to trick opposing coaches come NT time.
