WE NEED TO FILL ONE TEAM. I WILL TRANSFER A FREE TEAM TO YOU FOR THIS SEASON IF YOU RESPOND TODAY. IF YOU DO TAKE A TEAM PLEASE DO SO BECAUSE YOU ARE COMMITTED TO STAYING IN THE LEAGUE. THE TEAM HAS A VERY STRONG CORE WITH TRIS SPEAKER, LUIS APARICIO, HOYT WILHELM, BABY DOLL JACOBSON AND THE #4 PICK IN THIS YEAR'S LOADED DRAFT.

THANK YOU

Two Scoops Progressive is moving into its 6th season (1916/1968). As you may gauge the league follows two years, which allows for plenty of IP and ABs. The rules are detailed below and are fairly vanilla for a progressive. Note that teams in the AL do use a DH. Please read the rules thoroughly as there are some minor caveats. Unfortunately the league is losing three owners this year (two in the AL and one in the NL). Teams with Bob Gibson and Peter Alexander have been claimed but the available team has Tris Speaker, Christy Mathewson and Baby Doll Jacobson.

Please post here if you are interested in joining. You would be joining PRIOR to the draft and will be able to make any tweaks to your team as you see fit. You have the option to keep or change your home stadium and the stadiums currently used are listed below so you cannot pick a stadium that is already being used by another team. If you would like to join please specify the team and whether or not you want to keep or amend the stadium.

Lastly, if possible please join for an elongated commitment. The owners we are losing stayed for five years and are great owners whose lives got a bit too busy to manage their respective teams.

Thank you

The rules:

No salary cap
WW not allowed
DH will be used in American League only
6/2 AAA, below avg ability, randomly assigned. Transaction deadline will be used.

Stadiums were drafted prior to the initial player draft. You will be able to pick any stadium in the WIS database. No duplicate of stadiums such as Coors/Mile High allowed. Random.org assigns the annual lottery order. Stadium switching- you can swap to any stadium not belonging to any owner. This will only be allowed after each 5th league season. Any replacement owners will be allowed to swap when they assume an existing team, then they will follow the 5 season rule. If more than one new owner, we'll use previous season win-loss records, worst record goes first.

Trading- allowed and encouraged. Draft picks may be traded, up to 3 seasons in advance.
Vetoes of 6 or more owners nullify a trade. All trades must be posted in our trade thread by all involved parties to be valid. Trades involving draft picks, or trades that affect draft order, will also be kept on page 1 of the upcoming season's draft thread for reference.

Injured reserve: No limit as to the number of players on IR, and no limit as to how long they remain there. They cannot be on IR if they are WIS eligible for the upcoming season. Any player returning from IR must be placed on your active roster, otherwise they must go to minors, be cut or traded...

Minor leagues: you may place 1 WIS eligible player in the minors. They may be stashed no more than 3 consecutive seasons. Only 1 player at a time can be in minors. Any player returning from the minors must be put on your roster, cut, or traded, unless they are eligible for IR.

Each season I will announce a date for rosters to be posted. This includes minor league and IR assignments. Once rosters are posted, there will a 24 hour period for double checking rosters, and updating the available player list for our player draft...trades can be made, but no other roster moves allowed in that 24 hr period...

Initial player draft: upon conclusion of the stadium draft, we will use Random.org to determine our player draft order. Initial draft season will be a serpentine style 1-24, 24-1 draft consisting of 26 rounds. Edited (was 25, we will make it 26, so you will be able to place 1 player in the minors. ) Eligible players must be WIS eligible for the 1910 or 1962 seasons. 30 minute intervals will be in place.

Subsequent seasons: player drafts will be held prior to each season. Draft order will be determined by the previous seasons 162 game win-loss records. Worst to first. Tiebreakers will be head-to-head records, runs scored in H2H, then total regular season run differential. Winner gets lower seed. A lottery will be held each season for the 3 lowest win-loss teams. Each of the 3 teams will have a 1 in 3 chance of going first in Round 1 of the upcoming draft. Round 2 and beyond will use win-loss, and tiebreaker if necessary, to determine the order. To be eligible for the lottery, you must have achieved a minimum of 35 wins by game #120. Random.org will determine the lottery. I will announce the lottery results once we pass the game 120 mark. The rest of the draft order will be announced once the regular season has finished. Any picks that are made early or out of turn are not valid until you are "on the clock". Early picks are allowed ONLY if all previous picks have been made. Proxy picks are certainly legal, and encouraged, if you are unable to be on site when it is your turn to pick.

Upon conclusion of the annual player draft, I will announce when a 24 hour add/drop phase will begin. You must first drop a player before adding any undrafted rookies, free agents or cut players from the master list. You are not allowed to drop any players from the same season's draft. You will be limited to 3 add/drops during this phase. Choose wisely...

Disputes: In the event of a dispute where there is no operative rule or guideline, or if their interpretation is unclear, the commissioner will make a ruling. If three or more owners object to the ruling, the commissioner’s view does not stand and the issue is brought to all the owners through a vote which will be notified to all owners through a sitemail.

• Rule Changes: These can be discussed at any time. The first owner to want a rule change should start a thread and we’ll use that going forward to discuss any changes. However, in order to protect owners from having to vote constantly or on frivolous issues, a proposal to make, modify or eliminate a rule must be seconded by three or more owners in addition to the proposing owner before it can be voted on.

• Voting: Each owner gets one vote. Majority rules on all votes. Majority means the majority of owners who vote, not the majority of owners. However there must be at least 15 votes cast on any issue for the vote to be valid. The commissioner does not vote unless there is a tie; then he/she is the deciding vote. The commissioner does however set the time deadline within which the voting must take place.

Im an owner in this league, we have great parity and if you were starting a team in this era from scratch..Pete Alexander would be the first choice for many....now put him in a pitchers park and the possibilities are endless.

I've got a team already, but this would be a fun one for someone to take on. You've got a bunch of short-term high-end talent, like the glorious prime of Frank Howard and the late teens pitching of Jim Scott, some excellent relief pitching, and several gold glove infielders later in their careers.

Then you've got a strong draft pick and a decade of Tris Speaker's dominance, years of Jimmy Johnston's fine infield play, the sweet 20s CF play of Jacobson, and crazy depth in the outfield. Do you add innings and make a run for the playoffs over the next couple years? Or do you trade some of the short-term pieces, and build a juggernaut for the 20s/70s? Either would be a possible strategy!

The draft is ready to begin - come on in!!! You will have the #4 pick in the draft, with which you can pick a great player. Your pick is up: Nolan Ryan, Andy Messersmith, Stan Coveleski have been taken.
Jerry Koosman, Burleigh Grimes, Urban Shocker, and hitters George Kelly, Sam Rice, Bobby Bonds, and many more remain!
