Well not actually a 3pt contest, but how would you rank these players' 3pt shooting ability? What would you set their 3pt. frequency on?
1: ATH 74. SPD 60. PE 74. BH 54.
2. ATH 46. SPD 78. PE 58. BH 72.
3. ATH 34. SPD 88. PE 65. BH 92.
I like #3 because of that speed and ball handling. Does that make him better than 1?
Thanks :)
Thinking a little bit more about this, i wanted to give my opinion.
As a general rule, I think 3 point shooting is something like 45% PER, 25% Speed, 20% BH, 10% ATH. There are other factors (team pass, offensive type, defensive players, defensive set, and defensive setting) but these are the individual players baseline.
Using those calculations, #3 is the best than #1.
With that being said, i think guys like #1 do better against poor defenders. I don't know why it doesn't make much sense and my observations aren't exactly well documented.
I use the above formula as a baseline but I think I undervalue PER a little in it.
