Got my pitchers, pretty much. The rest may have to fit in over two or three days. Don't know. Guess there are other owners that need to finish up too.

This may require the most brain-work of any theme I've ever played... including schwarze's tournaments. Can I get a handicap for an overall IQ somewhere under 150?
This is why this particular theme is my favorite. Lots and lots of unique optimizations required due to tons and tons of permutations.

Having to approach it by a kind of most-important-first process of elimination so I don't spend way too much time.

I take it that since there are no actual $200,000 pitchers, there is no rule or process preventing me from drafting a fielder for that much and trading him in for the appropriate AAA pitcher to be designated/re-named, eh?

Questions

1. In choosing a AAA pitcher (e.g., to stand in for non-simmed pitcher, Jeff Stevens) since he is a reliever must I designate and select a relief pitcher? Or can I pick a AAA starting pitcher?

2. Same basic question about handedness?

3. Any other limiting factor? (I doubt it, but...)

I haven't ever done a theme with any sort of selection ability for AAA, so just tell me if I'm ignorant of something. ;-`

I'll jump in if there is still a spot open -- it might take me a couple days to put the team together, though.

I'll give a shot to ArlenWilliam's questions. This is my 2nd season in this theme. As to AAA pitchers: They must throw from the same side as your non-sim real life player. There is no distinction on pitchers between starters or relievers or combo. Nothing else limits the selection. There are some $200,000 pitchers in WIS. I just use one of them as the place holder, but I doubt it matters as you are going to send them down immediately and never call them up again upon the league being put into motion. All of this assumes you have the minimum number of pitchers on your roster that WIS requires. I hope that is all correct and I hope that helps.

Hello Cicero: We have our 24 owners but we still might need an alternate. So I will generate 12 pages for you and let you know in a day or two if there is room for you. Here goes:

1. 2010 Los Angeles Dodgers Trades & Transactions [any two sim-eligible players listed on the page, 2010 season, whether it was with the Dodgers or someone else]
2. C Orlando McFarlane 1962-68
3. 1943 Cincinnati Reds Roster [any two sim-eligible players]
4. 1993 Texas Rangers Schedule [page lists the winning & losing pitchers in each game plus any saves, so you can take any of those pitchers, including non-sim players and non-Rangers]

5. * PH-P Fred Schmanske 1923 Senators [take a 200k stand-in and an AAA replacement for Fred, and any teammate from the '23 Senators ... interesting player, he gave up 3 hits and 3 runs in one inning as a pitcher, but he was 2-for-2 as a hitter, plus a walk and two RBI]
6. Boston Red Sox @ Detroit Tigers, 6/23/1936
7. Pittsburgh Pirates @ Colorado Rockies, 4/29/2011
8. San Diego Padres @ Cincinnati Reds, 5/21/1978, first game of doubleheader

9. 1917 Philadelphia Athletics Team Pitching Gamelog [any two sim-eligible pitchers from the '17 Athletics]
10. Cincinnati Redlegs @ St. Louis Cardinals, 8/29/1959

(If nothing else, O great rhetorician, it can make for a wild and funky way to do an OL. I'm tempted to do that with mine, just a bit of adjustment.)

Have heard back from four of the five missing owners, that they will get their teams in by Monday or Tuesday at the latest. Nothing back from combalt, so I will welcome Cicero as our 24th man if he can get his team together. I have my own alternate team as a back-up in case someone fails to show.

My team is entered - I'll post my roster shortly
