reddtrain: You beat me to the punch! I will post my team up top. It's a wild one, counting on a crazy amount of AAA help.

I'd like a team with Double Duty Radcliffe.

That being said, I'm leaving on vacation today and won't get back until next Saturday morning (July 29th). If this is a quick filling league, you can bump me with no hard feelings whatsoever on my part. But if you don't get 24 teams quickly, I promise to get my team constructed next Saturday or Sunday at the latest.
7/22/2017 6:53 AM
I'll jump in, and bring Cool Papa Bell with me.
7/22/2017 7:50 AM
mars2010: It usually takes a while to fill the league, and to build rosters, so you shouldn't hold us up. Here are twelve pages for you:

1. C Eric Helfand 1993-95
2. Cincinnati Reds @ Milwaukee Brewers 9/20/2010
3. Team Batting Gamelog - 1934 Yankees [this page lists team stats for each game on the schedule, but the only players named are the opponent's starting pitchers ... so you should take any two of the pitchers listed from the Yanks' opponents ... page is https://www.baseball-reference.com/gl/teams/NYY/bat/1934.htm]
4. Oakland Athletics @ Anaheim Angels 9/24/2004

5. Buffalo Buffeds @ St. Louis Terriers 8/16/1914
6. *P Frank Riccelli 1976-79 [he didn't have any sim seasons, so you'll need to use one of your AAA selections for him]
7. San Diego Padres @ St. Louis Cardinals 7/19/1978
8. Chicago Cubs @ Philadelphia Phillies 7/2/1985

9. 1973 Boston Red Sox batting orders [does not list starting pitchers, so hitters only, and they had to start a game at some point]
10. Chicago Cubs @ Pittsburgh Pirates, 5/31/1915, second game of doubleheader
11. Washington Senators @ St. Louis Browns, 6/14/1950
12. *P Bob Allen 1937 Phillies

I don't know how you can find an AAA player who will do for Double Duty, but I love that you took him, I guess it gives you options for whether you need a pitcher or a hitter!

2. Cincinnati Reds @ Pittsburgh Pirates, 5/31/1989
3. Chicago White Sox @ Seattle Mariners, 5/18/2017 [hmmm ... obviously the 2017 players aren't ready yet, so I guess you will have to use AAA stand-ins for any two players who appeared in this game]
4. Texas Rangers @ Minnesota Twins, 9/1/2004

5. P Craig Stammen 2009-17
6. Boston Red Sox @ Cleveland Indians, 6/10/1951, first game of doubleheader

midknight: Welcome back! Satchel is a great start for any team ... too bad the average AAA pitchers can't do him more justice. Your twelve pages:

1. New York Yankees @ Washington Senators, 9/20/1955, second game of doubleheader [they gave Mantle the game off to rest, but you probably didn't have room for him with the cap, anyway]
2. Boston Braves @ Cincinnati Reds, 6/7/1931, first game of doubleheader
3. P Jonathan Broxton 2005-17
4. P Jesus Sanchez 1998-2004

5. 1889 St. Louis Browns Roster
6. Pittsburgh Pirates @ Philadelphia Phillies, 8/27/1967
7. Philadelphia Phillies @ Houston Astros, 7/12/1984
8. Cincinnati Reds @ Houston Astros, 5/15/2000

9. Montreal Expos @ New York Mets, 4/10/1979
10. Pittsburgh Pirates @ Chicago Cubs, 8/14/1964, first game of doubleheader
11. Boston Braves @ St. Louis Cardinals, 6/26/1949
12. *OF-SS Pony Sager 1871 Rockford Forest Citys [There is a very long SABR bio for him. He only played in the first year of the National Association, so you'll have to use an AAA replacement for him, and for one of his teammates at Rockford. He was good buddies with Cap Anson.]

razorclams: I've tried to start a couple of leagues featuring Negro League stars before ... only had one ever get off the ground. I'll gladly play if you get one together; let me know if you need any help or advice on setting it up. Meanwhile, your teammates for Judy Johnson will come from these pages:

1. Boston Red Sox @ Philadelphia Athletics, 9/1/1950
2. C-1B Landon Powell 2009-11
3. INF Gil McDougald 1951-60
4. P Brian Allard 1979-81

5. C Cooney Snyder 1898 Louisville
6. Milwaukee Brewers @ San Francisco Giants 5/9/1999
7. 1983 Kansas City Royals Batting Orders - does not list starting pitchers, so you have to take two hitters who started a game
8. OF Tom Wright 1948-56

9. P George Payne 1920 White Sox
10. New York Yankees @ Toronto Blue Jays 4/18/2006
11. Atlanta Braves @ Cincinnati Reds, 9/14/1971
12. Manager Connie Ryan, 1975-77 - you may take players from the two teams he managed [1975 Braves and 1977 Rangers], they don't both have to be from the same team
7/22/2017 10:29 AM
eman7400: Welcome back! Here are some pages for you:

1. Chicago White Sox @ Oakland Athletics 9/29/1985
2. P Tyler Skaggs 2012-17
3. 2B-3B Joe Wood 1943 Tigers
4. *Manager Lip Pike 1871-77 [He was player/manager for three clubs in 1871, '74, and '77. Obviously none of those seasons are in the sim so you'll have to use two AAA replacements for the guys you choose. You can choose Pike as a player, or not, since this is his manager page.]

5. Cincinnati Reds @ Brooklyn Robins, 9/15/1922
6. Atlanta Braves @ Philadelphia Phillies, 4/22/2001
7. California Angels @ Seattle Mariners, 8/14/1985, first game of doubleheader
8. Detroit Tigers @ St. Louis Browns, 5/4/1915

9. California Angels @ Baltimore Orioles, 9/6/1995
10. San Francisco Giants @ San Diego Padres, 9/29/1971
11. 1B Eddie Hohnhorst 1910-12
12. *2B-3B Jim Reilly 1885 NY Metropolitans [Reilly only had 40 AB, so you'll have to take an AAA replacement for him, but not necessarily for his teammate]

Let us know when you've chosen your 25th man

"This draft is HARD. Boxscores are OK if you can twist the players, but when they need to be used in that season... That being said, this was super fun."

Indeed. Pitching is at a premium when you can't twist your pitchers, so many teams will be lacking studs ... but that can still be competitive in a $70m league. That's also why I've liberalized the use of 200k players / AAA replacements to anyone who shows up in the box scores or rosters. Granted, average AAA pitching doesn't get you a lot of quality INNINGS -- maybe 50 or 60 per player -- but they will be a big help here.
