Skipper Friday threw an 11-inning complete game against the White Sox in his MLB debut ... gave up only 4 hits but walked 14 !!!

I'm back in - Negro Leaguer TBD

5. ** Wilmington Quicksteps Yearly Starters [https://www.baseball-reference.com/teams/WIL/pos.shtml] - lists the 8 players who started the most games for the Quicksteps in their only season, in the 1884 Union Association - so you will take two AAA replacements for any two positions you want, but no pitchers]
6. 1B-3B Tony Perez 1964-86

8. Tampa Bay Rays @ Minnesota Twins, 7/6/2011

11. P Ed Correa 1985-87
12. Cleveland Indians @ St. Louis Browns, 8/1/1930

The Union Association must have been a pretty odd league ... the Quicksteps' first game was in August, and they were already 26 games out of first place when they started ... and then they went 2-16 and packed it in!

frazzman80: Welcome aboard! I had a great time in your league so hopefully you enjoy mine! Here are your twelve pages to go with a Bullet:

1. 2017 New York Mets Roster (40-man) - shows the Mets' current roster - I guess you can take any two guys on it, even if they aren't in the majors yet, since you'll have to use AAA replacements for both anyway
2. New York Yankees @ Chicago White Sox, 5/11/1996
3. Los Angeles Dodgers @ Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim, 5/18/2016
4. Tampa Bay Rays @ Miami Marlins, 5/23/2016

5. San Francisco Giants @ Pittsburgh Pirates, 8/18/1981
6. Milwaukee Brewers @ Texas Rangers, 7/8/1992
7. San Francisco Giants @ San Diego Padres, 9/21/1991
8. Boston Red Sox @ Cleveland Indians, 9/1/1984

9. 1997 San Diego Padres Fielding Statistics
10. * P Lefty Hayden 1958 Reds [non-sim player, you'll need an AAA replacement here]
11. * P David Holdridge 1998 Mariners [another non-sim player]
12. Baltimore Orioles @ Seattle Mariners, 5/30/2011

Nobody on your squad will be old enough to remember why Bullet Rogan wasn't in the big leagues. You can take him as a right fielder if you prefer once you sort out the rest of your team; he'd be a star there, too.

Thanks for the offer to use him in the OF - let's see how these box scores look. At least I've got one Texas Rangers game listed, so that makes me happy. Not sure if that happiness will carry over once I look at these games...

So for #1 I'm taking 2 eligible 2017 Mets (using prior seasons) and then swapping them for AAA players or an I taking 200K guys and then using the AAA players with the 2017 Mets names (I hope it's the 200K guys so I don't eat cap on guys I can't use)?

I saw we have 4 AAA hitter and pitcher spots. Given that I have 2 non-sim players listed for 10 and 11, I could still take 2 2017 Mets pitchers if I wanted correct?

For #1 you take two, 200k players and then swap them out for pick-your own AAA players with the Mets' names.

You can do the same with any non-sim players you find in your box scores. For example, the Yankees in that #2 game started Tim McIntosh at 1B and Dutch legend Robert Eenhorn at 2B ... so you could take two more 200k players for them, if you wanted.

The max number of AAA players is actually ten ... six position players [that's the minimum I could select] and four pitchers. So, yes, you could take both Mets as pitchers.

I'm starting to wonder if I shouldn't let all of the AAA players [even the randomly generated ones] participate here, so that the advantage of having non-sim players isn't so great. [It's still an advantage to pick your own, but the random guys might contribute something.]

Thanks for the responses. I've got my head around it now.

As for the AAA players, in my experience, the more AAA players allowed, the more people tend to skimp on their bench as they know the AAA guys will be better than the 200K-500K bench guys. It seems odd to have to take 25 players and then only use 15 of them (kinda goes against the theme in my mind, but I'm the NOOB to the league and I don't want to make waves). We all get 1 AAA player already, so it seems to me that we should try to use as many of the 24 other real players as possible.

I find it odd that you have to go 6/4 as in my "draft your own AAA' in my progressives lets me do 3/2 for my league. I see no reason why you couldn't do 4/4. In my mind, assuming the average AAA player is a $1.5-$2.5 million player, a team using 6 or more would have a cap advantage over a team using 1-2.

also don't see this one. 6. Boston Red Sox @ Minnesota Twins, 5/7/2009. The other games look right.

Luckily I had written down those random pages, so I could look it up, and I made a couple of typos. They should have been:

4. Boston Red Sox @ Baltimore Orioles, 9 / 18 / 1990 and

6. Boston Red Sox @ Minnesota Twins, 5 / 27 / 2009

Sorry for the mistake! Typing too fast!
