Yeah, if we're going to have a serious discussion here. We need to talk about why Pizza didn't get more votes in my poll. I'm seriously concerned that people are starting to turn their back on pizza.
NY or Chicago?
Chicago deep dish, all day.
Ugh. Deep dish isn't pizza. It's a bastardized lasagna with a pastry crust.

1. New York
2. Neapolitan
3. New Haven
4. Being hit by a car
5. Deep dish
6. Being drawn and quartered
7. St. Louis style
You've obviously never been to Old Forge, Pennsylvania. Pizza capital of the world.

Even your girl's been there.

That **** is gross. Super onion-y sauce and cheddar cheese. Not my jam.

I didn't put it on my original list but Meth style definitely would rank somewhere between Chicago style and St Louis style.

Heathen.

I was in Scranton for work like 8 years ago and the guy at the hotel would not shut the **** up about old forge pizza. So we went to some mom & pop place 10 or 15 minutes from the hotel. It was not good.

If I remember right, it wasn't just cheddar, there was velveeta or something like it on there also.

i grew up on my grandmother's homemade thin crust Neapolitan-style pizza, made in her bendable metal pan... don't wash the pan out too much after use cuz you want the flavors to soak in to carry towards its next use. The style of Napoli and the Campobasso region brought over to Providence... yeah baby...!

Your work sent you to Scranton? Were you being punished for something?

No, we were doing a tax credit disposition deal on a bunch of multi family properties and I had to meet with the lawyer handling it. Why it was Scranton specifically, I don't remember.

I get to go to Allentown for work later this summer. Exotic.

Your company must really dislike you to send you to Allentown. But, at least there's a casino there now

Rarely do I look at a low-rated thread, but I was pleasantly surprised to see this topic. Any thread about pizza should be posted to the top of the forum.

I've never had pizza from the northeast (Texas native) but I've had the neapolitan style pizza at places like Cane Rosso has made me kind of a pizza snob. I'm going to NYC in October - any recommendations for a great pizza place there?

There's so much good pizza in NY it's tough to recommend one place but I'll say this: the line at Grimaldi's under the Brooklyn bridge is ridiculous. Right next door there's a place called Julia's or Julian's or something like that. It's just as good. WAAAAY less crowded and you can pay with a credit card.

EDIT: Forgot about Motorino. It's awesome, better than just about anything else. But it isn't a secret either. There will be a wait.

I know!!

Actually its not too bad. Went to Belgium and UK a couple months ago and then Bulgaria a few months before that. Pretty cool trips.

But we'll see. Maybe A-Town will show me something special this time around.

I don't know. I live an hour from Allentown (towards Philly) and if you've seen it once, you've seen it a dozen times. My old company had an office there that my boss worked out of, so I spent a decent amount of time there. But, there's the casino in Bethlehem, so that's something to do. And if the Iron Pigs are in town, you can catch some mediocre prospects before they get to Philly in a year or 2. They have a switch pitcher, probably haven't seen that before

Pizza in Italy tops all of your recommendations. Much fresher than anything I've ever had in the states and super tasty.
