What would you do if you had the 1st pick..

I have 20 scouting and this is the only guy that is even close to being worth the top pick..Should I draft a un-signable guy and try again next year? I'm 80% leaning towards signing him but really need a high impact bat down the road..

Why would you even consider passing on a guy like that?

I know right, dumb question... I drafted and signed two guys better last season and already have two really young SP's in the ML level.. I have a real weakness on offense and the free agency rules in this world make me hesitant to totally fill my lineup with all FA's. Right now I have the most IFA money to spend so I will get 1st pick as far as IFA's.. This guy is likely going to request $6-10M as he is a 'right deal' prospect. I'll likely have the option to opt out on him if he asks for too much on his counter offer. I think I was hoping for somebody to talk me out of signing him.

Take him if he signs great you can always trade him next season for a big bat. If he doesn't then you still get the #2 next season. Either way you hope theres a big bat in IFA.
