The first-ever Bare Bones Tournament will be as straightforward as it gets.

To demonstrate their understanding of the sim, owners will compete in five no-restrictions leagues at various caps. The five leagues will run simultaneously to avoid having dynamic pricing skew the results in any way. The leagues will be as follows:

League 1 - $60M
League 2 - $90M
League 3 - $120M
League 4 - $150M
League 5 - $180M

This will be a 16 owner tournament unless we get more interest quickly. 16 team leagues do not have a wildcard, so the impact of playoff bonus points will be minimal. The point structure will be as follows:

1 point per regular season win
1 point per playoff win
5 points for leading the league in wins (awarded for each league)
5 points for winning the World Series (awarded for each league)


To participate, each owner will need to submit a $10 GC. I will send out GC instructions via sitemail. WIS will kick in an additional $50, bringing the total pot to $210. If we end up with 20 or 24 owners, I will revise the prize structure to reflect the additional infusion of prize money. The prize structure will be as follows:

1st Place - $120
2nd Place - $60
3rd Place - $30

ozomatli; Have a question for you. What if you change the number of leagues from five to four, do you think you would have a greater chance of more owners be willing to participate? With the WIS Tournament of Champs going on now that takes away about 90 owners that would enter this league in a heart beat. Why not ask the other three owners if they continue if you changed it, because you know I would. Maybe we could fill this tournament? If you did, you could add one word to you title like "reworked, revised, re-try,etc).

WIS will only kick in $50 in prizes if there are 5 or more leagues.
