Just wondering...I see you built the cloned '64 Reds. Did you try to do anything with '67? Cloning either Maloney or Nolan might work.

This actually isn't true. doctorcc was tied for the lead after 42 games last year

Well, my $70M 1,207 IP roll of the dice is 7-2, 25 runs allowed. The pen hasn't been asked to do too much early on. That's a plus...we fully expect to see a multicolored pen shortly...I will do my best to juggle. No doubt gale force winds will blow about the time I need to tinker...I will likely look like one of those idiot Weather Channel guys standing near the pier...reminds me of Ron White explaining that it ain't THAT the wind is blowin', it's WHAT the wind is blowin'...

Apologies to DocCC...he may be worried, but he convinced me last year that he knows what he's doing...

I've been lucky so far. Lots of 1 run game wins in three of my leagues

Sometimes a rough stretch is just a rough stretch, and sometimes a bad omen. We'll see. I can't remember at this point what other $90m teams I tried, I devoted most of my pre tourney time making corrections to leagues where I misread the rules...

I'm toying with cloning Seaver/Nolan with the '77 Reds. ..

How about '00 Astros with Doc Gooden and Billy Wagner? Damn, that was one ugly pitching staff. Collectively they go into the dumpster...but you would have gotten 3 clones with a .444 team...Dotel as the 3rd? Biggio?

In the mother of all "other than that how was the play Mrs. Lincoln" scenarios, my teams are playing .575 ball (23-17), except for my team that's 0-8.

I feel like I'm getting karmic payback from starting like 14-0 or something with one of my teams in the second round of last year's tourney. I mean, I expected my team that's 0-8 to be bad...but not this bad.

Upon further review I really have two outliers. I have a team that's 9-1, a team that's 1-9, two teams that are 6-4 and two teams that are 4-6. As much as I appreciate this Wes Andersonesque symmetry, it doesn't bode well for my advancement to round 2.

I haven't played sim league baseball in a long time, I have been playing hardball dynasty. I was intrigued when I received the invitation for the WIS championship. I thought I would give it a try to see how I would do. So far I am clearly in over my head lol. My owner ranking for the tournament (92) seems very accurate right now. My biggest mistake so far was choosing a D rated team in the out of range theme. I had the brilliant idea of putting home run hitters in Coors, with a in my opinion great pitching staff. Bad idea!!! So far my team is hitting.248 with a team era of 9.41. I put together a staff of Brown, Johnson, Joss, and Mathewson that I remembered using with great success in the past. I'm guessing no matter what pitching you have at Coors you are going to get lit up. Lesson learned.

My doubles team team is sitting in first place right now but the season is early. My old favourite player to use for doubles 04 Lyle Overbay is once again not disappointing. So far 6 doubles in 10 games. For 4.8 million he has always done well for me.

The other teams rams are in the middle of the pack so far. I will use this tournament as a learning opportunity to see how experienced owners build their teams. I just hope I don't finish dead last lol.

Here are the running PA/game and NP/game totals in my leagues. The pitches per game in the variable league has gone up a bit. (I didn't check if this was due to extra innings games.) But the DH leagues still need way more pitches to survive - 7-10 more per game.
