How much more will a prospect realistically develop if they are going into the 5th year (4 completed) and are 23?

Maybe a point or two if you are lucky. Probably nothing until they hit 27. Then for some reason they get a slight defensive boost.

Agree with hockey, some high schoolers can get 2 or 3 though in their 5th year.

If they were a Diamond in the Rough in their 3rd or 4th year you may still get up to 4-5 points of development in their 5th year and 1-2 point in their 6th year. Depends on how big of a gap there is between current ratings and projected ratings, makeup, coach ratings and playing time (and age). Many variables determine how a player develops.
