So you think your 35+ baseball league full of former HS players somehow equates to MLB?

That's funny. Really funny.
I was talking about college.
So you think your D3 community college team somehow equates to MLB?

Equally funny.

It was a Southern California, four-year D2 university. It wasn't MLB, but it wasn't a joke.

What makes you think Edgar didn't swing in need-to-swing situations?

Comparing D2 to MLB is very much a joke.

HAHAHAHAHAHHAHA!!!!!

Says the guy who literally uses his softball team as an analogy every chance he gets.

What makes you think EM didn't swing in need-to-swing situations?

Tim Tebow would destroy your ****** D2 pitchers. What do you think of his BL prospects?

I'm done with the witness, your honor. Move on to the next case.

as tec said, it is situational. If the score is 2 - 2, 2 outs, men on 1st and 3rd in the bottom of the 9th and Edgar is up, I'd much rather he swing at a hittable pitch than try to draw a walk. Unless it was Griffey Jr hitting behind him, the next batter was not as good a hitter as Edgar, and the odds are better EM gets a hit than anyone else.
If the score is 3 -0 in the bottom of the 9th, 2 outs and 1 man on, by all means walk. we need the baserunners.
What makes you think he didn't swing in those situations?
I'm sure he did, sometimes, just as I'm sure there were other times he did not. Do you think he swung every time in that situation? If so, what makes you think that?

Well, it's a higher level than you played.

I think that's true of literally every hitter who has ever played. Sometimes they swing in need to swing situations. Sometimes they take the walk.

Which is why mike is so stupid for using it as a mark against EM.

If EM played for Boston, NY or LA no one would question his walk rate IMO. Playing for Seattle didn't help him.

It's not about playing for Seattle. It's about never winning the league championship. If you're gonna play only half the game in a non-East-Coast small market, you'd better be winning pennants if you expect to make it to the HOF (see Ortiz, David). Not saying it's fair, it's just the way it is.

Well, can you name a pure DH in a any market that didn't win a pennant that made the HOF? The only reason Papi is considered is 2004 and 2007.

Even Molitor and Thome have some history in the field.
