314 passes is just over 22 per game. That is hardly a "passing" team.

Quick check tells me 61 QB, not teams, threw 316 times or more. Many played 12, not 14, games. Five over 500 with 566 being the most.

There needs to be a title that falls between Game Manager and Game Changer.

Game Enhancer. Sorry, that was the best I could think of.

Game manager shouldn't be viewed as the negative that it is. It's doing your job. An OL doesn't have to knock a defender on his *** to do his job. It's nice when he does but, if he just gets in the way of the defender, he's done what was asked of him. That's what a game manager QB does.

That is the point I've been trying to make. A guy that gets drafted to and then stays in the NFL for multiple season is not a game manager in college. He has far too much talent for that. He led the entire NCAA in passing efficiency rating. He also led the nation in Adjusted Passing Yards Per Attempt and was second only to Aaron Murray of Georgia in Passing Yards Per Attempt. In other words, McCarron was throwing the ball deep and doing so at an incredible rate of accuracy (again 30 TD's and just 3 INT's).

Was he throwing deep or were there a lot a YAC from the NFL-quality receivers?

How's this for a recruiting pitch "Every player I've ever recruited to a school has won a national championship"...

Yeah you got me there.

I guess it could only be "Every player I've recruited in the last 18 seasons has won a national title"

Had that rough 5 year stretch in the beginning.

6 new committee members so who the hell knows what the committee is going to value next year.

Probably same thing as the others. Wins and losses.

Although, with Bama winning the NT as a non CC, I have to wonder if CC will be valued even less.

And, with two SEC teams in the NC game, I also wonder if there will be even less concern over getting four conferences in.

They clearly want to take the past precedent reasoning off the table.
