You could pretend that they were hit with lack of institutional control and lost some scholarships/had transfers.

This is why changing job is hell.

Exhibit #300 why they should have fixed jobs before recruiting. This trend among power conference schools is virtually non existent if promotions are loosened up.

Applied for the job but regardless of baseline prestige its like you are building an expansion team in the Big 10 within Smith. Its one of the most filled if not the most filled conference within D1 Smith. Your easily struggling for a winning season for 2-3 seasons. I'd like to say im shocked that WIS didn't listen to the fanbase on what they wanted changed but I'm really not shocked...

3.0 and the two-stage recruiting has made job changes way harder - in general. Arrive in team for near hopeless 2nd stage

The interaction between jobs process and recruiting process was not fully considered. Big mistake for long term of product.

Dialing down job qualifications for a move a notch or two would have been smart. But it aint looking like it will happen.

This is a D1 Big 10 school? What?

What is your opinion on the best way to rebuild these programs. Obviously, your prestige is low so it is difficult to go all in on top recruits is difficult.

So you just build slowly for 4-6 seasons? Really difficult against established teams in big conferences.

For sure. Just like you do for MID-major schools.
