Sounds like you aren't utilizing golf now well enough, Taint. Those $50-60 dollar courses become $30. Actually, in GA, the state park courses are about $30 a round and are really well maintained. I was pleasantly surprised when I learned about those.

Since we're talking golf, we have a course about an hour from me that was on national television a few weeks (April 2-8) ago that I wish I could get an invite to. Its called Augusta National.
I enter the Masters ticket lottery every year. I think I'm just going to bite the bullet and buy secondary market tickets one of these years. I was lucky enough to be at the 82 US Open when Watson chipped in to beat Nicklaus on 17. so awesome.
One of my buddies that I grew up with all through HS made $200k at the masters this year. He shot a -5 under. Kinda cool.

#1) Only thing dumber than playing golf is watching someone else play.
#2) Why are you checking out his rear end?

FWIW, rates for the course closest to my house. Haven't played there in years though: too many beginners who take forever (and don't get asked to leave). I'm average at best, but still hate slow play.

What has America come to?

What has America came to?
Come to. Journalist. Not came to. And its probably because both genders play golf. Mostly males play baseball. If you combine with softball you may be closer but also by the time people reach 50 they usually retire from sports like softball but 90 year olds can play golf. Because it is a game not a sport.
