i picked that year because it was 1 year before the new wave/punk explosion and i wanted to show that FM radio could have been so much cooler then it was.

i will get my 1970 and 1971 beatles lists together and publish them over next week or so and 1972.....there may seem to be a dearth of songs for 1972 but there are actually enough songs using singles to create a real beatles album from that year.

today is MARTIN LANDAU'S birthday.....one of his lesser known roles was of the owner of a vintage movie theater in a small town usa...the movie is called THE MAJESTIC and is a favorite movie of mine.......it stars jim carrey.....carrey plays someone in the entertainment industry who is blacklisted in the mccarthy era...he gets into an accident in landau' s town and is mistaken for landau's son who was lost in WW2...he has amnesia from the accident and is a double for the dying landau's son who had given up on ever seeing his son again....carrey comes to believe that he is landau's son and is hailed as local hero until his memory returns and he does not know what to do...he has also fallen in love with a woman who also thinks he is the war hero......the mccarthy element is always of importance and it is very well done.
it is an intelligent bitter- sweet very poignant movie....very very capraesque...which are in short supply.....i really recommend it highly..

birthday shout out to BUTCH PATRICK.....immortalized as eddie from the munsters.
shout out to DANNY AIELLO........one of his great films was JACOB'S LADDER.........this is a movie you cant say too much about...you just have to trust and see it......

birthday girl...NICOLE KIDMAN ........i forgot to include bewitched with will ferrell on my SNL list.....ill take the scorn but i loved the bewitched movie...i laugh out loud at certain scenes.
