Welcome to Juice’s 2017/2018 Tournament!
Same as most of my tournaments: No Gift Certificates or Money needed to join - just a team to enter!
FIVE ROUNDS: Round 1 = 16 Leagues / Round 2 = 8 Leagues / Round 3 = 4 Leagues / Round 4 = 2 Leagues / Round 5 = 1 (For The Championship) League
The winner/champion of Round 5 will receive $200 in credits from WHATIFSPORTS.
The runner-up from the Round 5 World Series will receive $60 in credits from WHATIFSPORTS.
The two LCS participants from Round 5 who didn’t move on will each get $25 in credits from WHATIFSPORTS.
This is how Round 1 is going to work:
1st: I’ve researched the years from 1901 up through this point in the 2017 season and went through each franchise’s history to strung together every time they had six seasons of a Pythagorean Win-Loss Percentage of .550 (or better) ball. For example, the Pirates did it in their first six years – 1901 to 1906. The Braves, however, didn’t have their sixth team that qualified until 1954. Therefore, that first Braves team can have players from 1901-1954 – a 54-year span while the Pirates can only use those six years. Once you look at the available teams, you’ll better understand what I’m saying.
Extra Note: The Nationals, Diamondbacks, Indians, Dodgers, Cubs, Astros and Red Sox squads that end in 2017 are based on the Pythagorean Win-Loss Percentage of each team at the beginning of play on September 2, 2017. Whether or not they finish the year with a .550 or above percentage, those teams will be in play and can’t be switched out. Those are the only seven clubs who, as of that date, have a percentage of .550 or more for 2017.
2nd: Every League will have a minimum of 17 National League teams to choose from and 16 American League teams to choose from. (There were more N.L. squads that met the criteria…) Once 12 teams are chosen for each N.L. and A.L., that particular league will be closed.
3rd: I’m not a big fan of using clones but I thought that allowing one (and only one) per team might help some of the perceived “weaker” teams match up with all the others. Therefore, each team is allowed ONE clone on their roster. It can be either a position player or a pitcher.
League Alignment will be in the order that teams were drafted in each league.
Unlike previous tournaments where I had different themes for each round, we’re sticking with this theme all the way. We’ll find out after Round 5 which franchise and time-span were the best there was. Also, if you want to make changes to your roster(s) between rounds, that’s fine as well – as long as you stick to the above guidelines for building your roster.
OTHER IMPORTANT INFORMATION:
CAP – $120M
Clones: One (and only one) per team - can be either a pitcher or position player
Waiver Wire: No

A.A.A.: No
Designated Hitter: Yes
Injuries – Turned Off
You may use either partial or full season stats of any player who had a split season - as long as the stats indicate it was for your franchise.
Stadium – All teams/leagues will use a stadium that their franchise called home during that particular time-frame.
Who Moves On?
Once Round ONE is complete, the owners who own the eight playoff teams in each league will earn a spot in Round Two. 8 x 16 = 128 spots. That leaves 64 spots to fill. The final 64 spots will be awarded to the teams who had the most wins across all 16 leagues (who didn't make their league's playoffs). The tie-break (should it come into play) will be (1) Most Home Wins, and (2) Most Runs Scored minus Runs Allowed.
Here are the squads that are available and who selects them:
