Roster requirements Topic

Dumb question time.

What is meant by the terms "strict roster requirements/restrictions" and "relaxed roster requirements/restrictions"?

Not sure of that one myself, so not a dumb Q. I THINK it means you have to have 6 defencemen, but U better ask Jakyll or Chuck

IIRC, it means you can just draft 12 forwards, any position. When the sim was first built you had to draft four C, LW, RW each. But then of course you have lots of players listed as centers who actually played wing, or vice versa. And then we all figured out that outside of faceoff wins, the sim doesn't seem to care where you play your forwards. So at one point they introduced the "relaxed" option to just draft 12 Fs.

It actually means you can drop the three extra skaters sitting on your bench. You do not have to maintain a roster of 23 players. You must keep 20 which is the minimum. It does have to be 12 forwards, 6 d-men and 2 goalies.

Relaxed Roster Requirements -- In an open league, you have some flexibility to change your roster around, but you must keep at least 10 forwards, 5 defenders, and 2 goalies. This is not including minor leaguers. Using this option ignores these requirements. You will only have to keep a total of 23 skaters and 2 goalies, but the positional requirements are not enforced.
