$80M: The Chain

Make a chain of 25 players with one player linking to the next. Example:

1. Pick Player A.
2. Pick a teammate of A (let's call him Player B).
3. Twist B to a subsequent season.
4. Repeat steps 2 and 3 until you finally get to Player Y.
5. Finally, for your team to be valid, only adjacent lettered players can appear on a team together (i.e. A can only be a teammate of B, B is only a teammate of A and C, all the way to Player Y is only a teammate of X). However, non-adjacent players (i.e. Player A and Player C) may have been teammates at other points in their career, just not on any of the teams you are selecting players from.

80M Q&A:

Q: I assume each chain must be unique in that none of the other players can appear on the roster of other players? ex. almost no way to use the Yankee core 4 as they all appeared on the same roster (even if you did a chain like 96 Rivera => 97 Posada => 98 Pettite => 99 Jeter) assuming all your other players in the chain was ok. This makes checking rosters crazy hard and do we have to use BR to check if someone played like 1 game on the 96 Yankees?
A: Yep. It will be somewhat tedious to verify on my end as well, but there can be no overlap of players. Your example would be invalid since those players played together on multiple teams that you are using. The idea here is a true chain. One link to the next, through the history of the game.

Q: Are Baseball-reference.com rosters used for verification, or just players who qualify for WIS?
A: BR will be our go-to for this league and any other relevant ones.

You may only use players who's salary has increased by in each of the 6 dynamic salary updates that have occurred (including the one that will occur on October 10th), and gone up by a total of 2%. I will create this league as soon as the salary update occurs and will have site staff blacklist all players other than those who have increased each time.

$255M: D.E.A.L. Redux
D.E.A.L. is an open-ended draft league where all players are available, and only one season of each player may be drafted. The league has completed six seasons and one additional draft, which means we have access to seven total drafts.

Based on the average spot in which a player has been drafted, I have grouped them into six groups. Group 1 will have the players drafted highest, 7th highest, 13th highest, etc. while Group 2 will have the players drafted 2nd highest, 8th highest, etc.

These groups will be listed in individual draft threads. Based on the final Round 1 Standings, you will be able to draft players from one of the six groups. The owners ranked 1 - 4 will be drafting from Group 6, owners ranked 5 - 8 will be drafting from Group 5, etc.

Once the groupings are set, we will have six simultaneous drafts (one for each group). Each draft will run for 25 rounds and will be serpentine-style. Draft order within each group will be random.

After all six drafts have been completed, we will have a one round stadium draft where the draft order will be set in the inverse order of team salary.

255M Q&A:

Q: Do we have to announce season at the time we draft a player?
A: No, but please remember to post your team's total salary with your final pick.

Q: Will the draft be limited to players who have been drafted in the 7 seasons of D.E.A.L. so far?
A: Yes - the list of available players will be posted in each draft thread well before the drafts begin.

Q: How is a unique park defined?
A: Despite the fact that there can be differences (such as in Park Factor), a "park" will be a unique real life structure. So AT&T / SBC / Pac Bell will be a single park. Parks that were used by multiple teams and therefore have multiple entries (such as Municipal) will only be available once.

Question on the $80M:

I assume each chain must be unique in that none of the other players can appear on the roster of other players?

ex. almost no way to use the Yankee core 4 as they all appeared on the same roster (even if you did a chain like 96 Rivera => 97 Posada => 98 Pettite => 99 Jeter) assuming all your other players in the chain was ok. This makes checking rosters crazy hard and do we have to use BR to check if someone played like 1 game on the 96 Yankees?

For 90M, are all 300K players allowed, or di they have to be related to teams you choose?
9/15/2017 5:12 PM
For the $110M, isn't a very high percentage of players see some type of salary increase every update? Only the most obscure players are remaining static/falling (look at the huge decreasing availability of the $200K floor players as an example). The blacklist will likely be only the most obscure players (that almost nobody would want to put on their roster anyway). Or am I misunderstanding what the theme description says...
