Round 2 Themes, 2017 Topic

I think this is a better way to describe the $80M theme restrictions:

1. Pick Player A. Select a team/season this player appears on.
2. Pick a teammate of A (let's call him Player B) from that season. This teammate may not appear on any prior selected team/season.
3. Twist B to a subsequent season. No previously other selected player may appear on that team/season roster.
4. Repeat steps 2 and 3 until you finally get to Player Y.

In the $120 million theme is a decade considered ANY 10-year period or must it always be 00-09, 10-19, 20-29, etc.?

The latter. An actual decade.

So that means when I pick player D, I have to make sure he was never a teammate of players A & B? When I pick player E, he can never have been a teammate of players A, B, C? Etc? This theme alone may take me 5 weeks.
For the seasons you are using.

If Player A played with Player D on a team other than one of your chosen teams (based on the players you select), then it does not matter.
Well that reduces my headaches by 75%. Still some annoying backchecking to do.

I thought I'd seen this asked somewhere, but it's not on the front page, so maybe I imagined it.

For the $100M league, are those ranges based on actual PA/IP, or per 162 values?
10/17/2017 12:11 PM
/162, which is what you see in the Draft Center if you add $/IP or $/PA as a searachable stat
10/17/2017 12:17 PM
I didn't even realize that was a search option. Learn something new every day.
10/17/2017 12:22 PM
On the search screen, there is a drop-down menu at the bottom saying "Search Interface", with options Normal/Beginner/Advanced. The vast majority of searches I ever use are only available if you set it to Advanced - I think these might be among them.
10/17/2017 1:56 PM
Ya, I'm on advanced. I just didn't know you could search by $/PA or $/IP. Never noticed it in the list before.

I think Javy Lopez is listed in both group 5 and group 6 for D.E.A.L. Were we meant to have Javier Lopez only in group 6? (Or am I misreading something - that happens a lot.)

Good catch, thanks. The original data set was full of so many misspellings that needed to be manually corrected that this must have slipped through. Unless there are any major objections I'm going to remove him from Group 6 as he should only be in Group 5.

I think that’s the right thing to do. Maybe we should say this in the group 6 thread - the other guys might not see it here.

Normally I wouldn’t like making any changes at all after a draft has started, but I don’t think this would affect anyone’s calculations.

Another possibility is to extended the stadium draft into a two round affair where based on the lowest salary each owner could either take a stadium *OR* swap any player off their roster to be replaced with any unselected player from all of the six drafts (obviously it would be serpentine as well). That way someone screwed by a single position could possibly find a useful replacement.
10/18/2017 12:22 AM
We are not going to make any changes at this stage.

I don't play many high cap leagues, but I feel that the owners who were fortunate enough to get $20M+ seasons from players (especially pitchers) are going to be at a bit of an advantage.
