16 team leagues. What's up with that? Topic

What is the appeal of so many 16 team leagues?

They tend to fill faster, for one thing. That's especially true during the WISC season.

They fill faster. and they don't have a wildcard, some people like it some people don't.

Purely mathematically speaking, you have better odds at winning a championship when you only have 15 opponents... I never entered one, are rewards the same as 24 team leagues?

Rewards are smaller. 4000 points to win a 24-team league. 3500 points to win a 16-team league. Site credit adjusted accordingly as well for losing in the LCS or World Series.

I kind of like the smaller leagues as a change of pace. There are 12 team leagues too and I find the forum is more active and you get to know the other players more--kind of like when you play fantasy baseball.
