I don't think you can make that decision without knowing what the ATH/SPD/DEF of your PG/SG is.
Why?
For reasons similar to what you pointed out.

Example:
PG 50 ATH, 98 SPD, 75 DEF
SG 75 ATH, 96 SPD, 55 DEF
That team would probably want the 100-50-100 guy, because they need the ATH/DEF bump

PG 75 ATH, 85 SPD, 85 DEF
SG 77 ATH, 75 SPD, 87 DEF
That team would probably want the 80-80-80 guy, to keep their average speed up.
Okay, I get the premise but the defensive value is a sum of the total parts of the equation. If the combined ATH and DEF value go up more than the SPEED value doesn't that make the 100-50-100 guy always better?

To put another way

a 100-1-100 guy is always better than a 1-100-1 guy right?

In the second example and 80-80-80 guy would give you a defensive value of:

78-80-84
The 100-50-100 guy would yield a

84-70-91

Aren't 6 ATH and 7 DEF worth more than 10 SPD?

Overall for sure, it's 13 to 10 but in value also since veterans told me def, ath are more valuable than speed in zone and I experienced it in D3 and D2.

But I am not sure that's the way we calculate defense value in zone. I always thought it was def*multiplier+ath*multiplier+spd*multiplier (probably less likely than 1). My guess would be 1.2 ; 1 ; 0,8 .

Right, I guess is what I am saying if ATH an DEF is valued more than SPEED (which is what I think as well in a 3-2) then in what situation is 10 speed points worth more than 13 points of ATH and DEF.

In no time, it is more valuable. And Only and I discussed the 100, and we thought that stat seem to do more, sometimes, than only be 1 point over 99. It's in the superstar range.
