My first date ever was to see Young Guns 2. My sister drove us in her red Subaru Justy. I thought the movie was excellent.

It was a good movie. How was the date?

Movie was better.

Jon Bon Jovi was in one of the Young Guns. Got shot pretty quick. Dead or Alive was on the soundtrack.

I do not think it would actually help retention. 2.0 You recruited right after you got your team. Even after reading Hoops 101 I recruited a crap class. But I had fun losing, being part of a Conference with humans, and I stayed. Season two I took a suggestion and ask for a mentor. Many seasons have followed. It was because I wanted too!

That reminds me of a movie I saw in college.

First date and I took the girl to see the movie "Geronimo" with Matt Damon. Okay movie, but more of a history movie, really boring for a date. Not a good choice for a first date at all.

But I now realize it wasn't the wrong movie, just the wrong girl.

I don't remember any of the movies I took my dates on

“Really depends on the person... it took me a couple seasons to get the hang of recruiting.” … yes, and for me screwing it up would just have been frustrating. I’m not one who takes pleasure from fumbling around just because the mistakes are MY mistakes.

“As a new coach, you don't know what qualities to recruit for until you've played a little and somewhat learned what an effective player looks like.” Now that I have played a few seasons I may be getting the hang of it, a bit. Still learning, though.
