Promises to an ineligible Topic

What happens when you promise a start and/or minutes to an ineligible? Do they still have recruiting value?

They still have recruiting value, and if they do not become eligible you don't have to honor any of the promises (D2, D1). D3 you must still honor promises because they can play immediately. Keep in mind if you make promises assuming they will sit out a year, but they become eligible you will have to honor those promises.

Exactly.

Just happened to me at UAB in Tark. Promised start and minutes figuring it didn't matter and ooops ... the dunce passed his SATs.

Doh!

But, if they sit a year as an inel, do the promises carry over to the following season?

No. But they do expect sophomore level playing time, they might complain if they don’t get enough minutes.

Is that a direct result from being promised minutes as a recruit? Or do they just want playing time in general if they aren't getting it?
