why? most of the Lakers problems stem from the fact that they made deals to try to extend Kobe's window and those deals backfired - that's the opposite of the process

So all this tanking has Phila at a 1-4 start. They just need to revoke ownership rights for the Knicks and Sixers and have the league take over the teams. Ditto for the Browns. There really needs to be some sort of standard to live up to instead of guys lining their pockets while putting out a terrible product. It's understandable that small market teams can't always compete, but not places like Philadelphia and NY.
you have no clue what youre talking about if you think philly is in the same boat as the knicks and browns
13 years without a winning season. Worst record in the league the past 4 years. They have some guys that should be good...in a year or 2. But considering they had 4 straight top 3 picks they should have a winning team at least and Im not sure they will. Other teams have done much more with fewer picks and without 4 years of tanking.

It is hard to take your post seriously when you judge a team after 5 games as well as comparing Knicks ownership to anyone else. The Knicks are on another level from everyone else.

yea and our problems come from the bynum disaster...whats your point?...they both tanked(and rightly so)...we just didnt bother disguising it...still ended up in the same place...only difference is you guys wasted money on deng and mozgov so you dont catch as much heat about it as we do

"13 years without a winning season."

wrong

"Worst record in the league the past 4 years."

wong again

"They have some guys that should be good...in a year or 2."

they have two legit all-stars right now

"But considering they had 4 straight top 3 picks they should have a winning team at least and Im not sure they will."

little early to say they wont have a winning team this year...it wont be pretty the first month or two but i expect us to be making a run at the 6-8 seed by seasons end

"Other teams have done much more with fewer picks and without 4 years of tanking."

maybe...but im happy to take my chances with embiid and simmons...the 4 years were worth it

On a Philly note, I have to admit Simmons has impressed me more than I expected. I don't know if he'll really stick at PG, but he should be a difference-maker for years and years.

your problems were/are hinkie's master plan - the Howard and Nash trades were about trying to compete for a little bit longer - it was the opposite of the process in fact and you were a sub .500 team when you made the Bynum trade and he wasn't going to do too much to change that fact

actually we lost in 7 to the celtics in the semis the year before the bynum trade(d-rose injury but still an above .500 playoff team)....jrue/j-rich/turner/thad/bynum would have been a playoff team and were predicted to be by all the experts...now i dont think that core ever competes for a title but we were trying to compete just like you were...and just like your howard/nash moves, it failed miserably and let to both of us tanking

the lakers and and the sixers have been on the same path since the 13-14 season...you can call it the process or you can call it kobes retirement tour..it doesnt matter they both tanked

Andrew Bynum is Top 5 to 10 center of all time

He and Lillard would have made a great 1-2 punch.

Another level than the Browns? I think not.

At least however, they went and got a superstar player and Phil. Didnt really work, but they tried to win games and still have a unicorn on the roster.

Sorry, 1 winning record in 13 years.

Not sure who had a worse record than Philly last 4 years.
11/6/2017 3:34 PM
yes 1 above .500 team in 12 years(you cant seriously be counting this year)...but we made the playoffs 4 times and were between 35-40 wins every year...basically your classic middle of the road, going nowhere team....which is why pretty much everyone in philly that had a clue was on board with hinkies extreme rebuild...we tried building a team with mid 1st rounders and getting over the hump with free agents(brand) and trades(bynum)...the classic "right way" that you probably think we should have done and would have led us to scrapping for wins with a jrue/turner/thad/hawes core ...luckily we had a gm with a smarter, longer view and are now starting to reap the rewards of that patient plan

you may not have liked the way we did it, but to suggest that we were some aimless franchise like the browns or knicks with no clue what we were doing is just plain dumb

oh and the sixers have only had the worst record once...our glorious point jakaar season that led to 10 wins and ben simmons
11/6/2017 6:12 PM
also...4 straight wins since you declared our 1-4 start meant that the rebuild was a failure
