I don't use camps at any level anymore. I used to but at D3 you get too many above division recruitable level, at D2 you get too many sub-par recruits and at D1 there always seems to be an abundance of cash available. D3 is the toughest! I use scouting service for 200-250 closest D1 kids, than use assistant search by target position, 100 miles at a time, being sure to have enough money for each position. At D3 be sure to save some cash for transfers.

Can I ask why 3000 on the private camp for only 50 players? I understand spending 12000 is a lot. But that leaves out 150 unknowns out there. What's the reasoning behind leaving opportunity on the table. Just personal preference? Dumb example, but what if the 50 they gave you were all "A" recruits, you most likely aren't signing any of those guys. (I'm sure that wouldn't happen, just an example)
It varies, depending on how many scholarships I have open. Radius gets wider with more resources.

Ok, I'm leaning towards no public camps and just using the assistant search. Cuz I need a PG and SF. So I'll just assistant coach positions 1-3. I guess overall I didn't fully understand the benefits of the assistant coach thing.

Hosted camp is the best bang for your buck.

Assistant coach is more a crap shoot than just selecting the players you want to scout to the next level... but it's much more affordable to do so through the assistant coach search.

Hosted camp pulls players from 500 miles or less. So I find it a benefit to be under 200 guys for these at my d3 schools cal tech and Colorado, it costs less and I get all recruits at the camp within 500 miles. I do d1 players only. I'll do fss for d1 recruits within 500 miles by state then private camp. This get all those guys to level 3 for $75 a player. I then do assistant search to get all guys to level 4 for a total of $135 minus the little I save on the top 100. After that I typically do d2 fss for states within 100 or 200 miles depending what I have left in my budget and then assistant search by position and mileage. I don't save for transfers you can see them on previous team page most times. Hosted camps in high density areas are tougher because when you assistant search there's no guarantee you'll get those players first. You can end up with alot of level 2 and 3 that way which is no good.

Thanks Spud!

But actually it's incorrect. Hosted camp is $30 per level but scouting service is $15.

but still better than Asst coach which is $60.
