We don’t have a two party system. We have a multi-party system with two dominant parties.

Why? Because human nature. People group by ideology and quickly realize that small groups get wiped out by big groups. So small groups join larger groups that tend to have some ideological overlap.

There’s nothing the Republican or Democrat parties could do to end that even if they wanted to.
Nice try but no.

We do have a two-party system. England, Israel, Germany, Sweden, Denmark, France, Austria... (do you see a pattern) have a multi-party system.

You'll probably argue the point with some sort of rationalization. That won't change the fact that you are wrong on this one.
I don’t want to get buried in a semantics argument. There are multiple political parties in every federal election and there are independents in Congress.

Regardless of how you want to label it, two parties dominate. That’s true in Canada, England, Germany, etc.. The reason is what I said in my first response.

Nice to see you not try to separate Repubs and Dems for a change.
ALL are self-serving and ALL could care less about "we, the people".
just another note. You have often accused me of not bothering to read/comprehend you quotes. Apparently you don't bother to read mine, since I rarely differentiate between Repubs and Dems. I have often said both parties suck. I have agreed with you and others numerous times when it has been posted.
yet, it was "nice to see me not try to separate Repubs and Dems for a change".

"There are multiple political parties in every federal election and there are independents in Congress."

I can't disagree. Heck I LIKE Angus King (Angus Young, too!).
And I've voted many times for someone with something other than an R or a D after their name.
Of course, none of them actually ever got elected.
I don't live in Minnesota........ a bunch of folks there experienced it!

Next question: Why has the Democratic Party spent the last 3 years whining and complaining about Russia possibly influencing the US Presidential election, yet they supported former President Obama trying to influence Canada's election? Hypocritical much?
What? It's not illegal to support a candidate, it's wrong if you are in a position of political power.

D@mn it Doug: I'm tired of asking people not to repost tang's stupidity. Now he's trying to claim the most recent former POTUS has no political power? Is that why the Democratic candidates want his endorsement? PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE stop reposting this moron's idiotic comments!

Uhh, Obama holds no office. He's a private citizen. He can do what he wants

OBAMA and HILLARY rigged the election.

I have always agreed with you there. Both parties suck. Some Dems are better than the Repubs. Some Repubs are better than the Dems, but they all suck.
Too bad more Americans don't agree with this sentiment. The entire farce that masquerades as our current political parties could be stripped of all power in one election cycle. One!

It's such a simple concept that even brain-dead Democrats and Republicans can understand it.

Give them no money, no attention and absolutely no votes. Do that and they all go bye-bye.

so who wins

electoral college

no one goes bye bye

buncha car salesmen and insurance guys run the program

Eat what? That lame reply was blown out of the water long ago after someone reposted it. The same treatment I give every one of his ridiculously stupid comments when I am unfortunate enough to see them. You better stick to your obsession with doug.
