There are a lot of grade A pricks in that clubhouse. He won't fix that.

Despite the fact that it's Boston, it's a drastically unappealing job. The Red Sox seem to constantly have a roster full of whiny, entitled babies. Farrell was actually a perfect manager for them, since he's a whiny baby himself.

The fact they ran Francona out of town proves that it's a brutal place to manage, even if you're one of the best. I wouldn't be surprised if Cora was the only person interested in the job.

I don't know that there was one magic candidate I was hoping for.

Guys that think they are too good to coach in the minors never rub me the right way, but that isn't my biggest issue. How many guys are great in their first chance to head coach? His playing here means nothing...he was an under the radar bit part, not the have every thought questioned 100 times every day.
