Two different things. Judge should work to improve. But I don’t think shortening up his swing in an attempt to avoid strikeouts will help him improve. I think it will make him worse.

I think that he is going to make a few hundred outs next season. How he makes those outs doesn’t really matter.

But wouldn't it be awesome if, like Trout, he cut down on his strikeouts while improving his OPS?

What would have happened if Mike Trout said "You know, my OPS is good enough as it is. I'm just going to keep striking out!"?

Bryce Harper tried to cut down on his strikeouts after his MVP season and it tanked his performance. One example doesn't make a trend.

You’re assuming causation. He reduced his k’s from 23% to 20% in 2015-2016 and his OPS stayed the same.

Wait, are you now arguing that hitters can't implement changes to their approach to try to get better results?
