LOL. Look at the numbers you posted from 2014 on. Just look at the numbers. There is a pattern.
This is incredibly funny.

" if he did, it wasn’t apparent in his results. "

No one is talking about making outs. We're talking about making contact.

Do you or do you not think MLB players should try to improve? Do you think, back in May, Girardi said "Hey, Judge, you're killing the ball. Why not skip BP for a couple of weeks and let some other guys get some extra cuts in"?
No one is saying hitters shouldn’t try to improve.

Do you or do you not think there is a trade off when a hitter changes their approach?
You flat out said right here that Judge shouldn't try to improve:

"No one knows for sure. What I do know is that Judge hit 50+ home runs with a 422 OBP. Why **** with that on the hope that maybe making more contact improves it? He had one of the top 2 or 3 offensive seasons in 2017.

Two different things. Judge should work to improve. But I don’t think shortening up his swing in an attempt to avoid strikeouts will help him improve. I think it will make him worse.

BL broke Robert Downey Jr's rule.

Do you think a change that results in more strikeouts could be an improvement?

I think that he is going to make a few hundred outs next season. How he makes those outs doesn’t really matter.

But wouldn't it be awesome if, like Trout, he cut down on his strikeouts while improving his OPS?

Obviously, improving his OPS would be awesome. What he does regarding Ks doesn’t really matter.

Mike Trout said he was going to work on cutting down his strikeouts. He did and, magically, his OPS went up.

Do you think that might happen if Judge cut down on his whiffs?

What would have happened if Mike Trout said "You know, my OPS is good enough as it is. I'm just going to keep striking out!"?

Bryce Harper tried to cut down on his strikeouts after his MVP season and it tanked his performance. One example doesn't make a trend.
11/6/2017 10:52 PM
So you give us one example? LOL.

You’re assuming causation. He reduced his k’s from 23% to 20% in 2015-2016 and his OPS stayed the same.

I'm pretty sure players rarely try to make outs (sacrifice bunts are about the only situation I can think of) so how can they try to make less outs when they don't try to make any outs in the first place?
Wait, are you now arguing that hitters can't implement changes to their approach to try to get better results?
not sure how you got that out of what I posted, but I'm not sure how you get a lot of the things you post.
