In theory, a good idea to protect players. In application it is a joke.

They seem to have no clue what they are looking for or the actual definition of the penalty

Vandy just got screwed over big time against Carolina and this happens to teams every week....

I tend to agree as I don't think the action is being penalized as much as the result of the action.

But, if you're talking about #11 on the QB in Vandy/SC, he had to go. You can't bury the crown of your helmet into the QB's facemask.

Part of the pussification of the game. Can't hit the QB, can't hit receivers, can't blind-side block defenders.
