MWR?

I think it's 60. My EXP% is .326 so I think it will come around. I'm 5-11 in 1 run games so, with any luck, that will even out. I'm obviously counting on some late season "soft" tanking to get me some extra wins.

18-43 and embarrassed by my offense. Traded 3 young arms for Player Profile: Jo-jo Beavan - Hardball Dynasty Baseball | WhatIfSports

I think he's gonna destroy baseballs in Indy.

Pre-Jo-jo: 62 games, 227 runs. Dead last in the league 18-44

Who did you have to trade to get him? Can't figure out why someone would trade that guy at 27 and with a $4 million dollar salary.

Jo-jo hit a homer in his first two AB with me.

Westbrook was acquired in trade for a 31-32 y/o 1B. Hawkins was drafted by previous owner. Miles was a Rule 5 pick.

The owner posted him as available. I asked "Is he a clubhouse cancer? He's got to be one of the best hitters in the league. Pick any three guys off my roster and I'll take him." He picked three good ones. But, at 27, that dude is gonna be a beast for several seasons. I was going to pick up a big bat next season and expected to pay 15-18m to do so for a hitter in his 30s. I saved 10m a year and shaved 3-4 years off his age.

Thats a fair trade.

And with a 67 patience rating there is a decent chance he'll sign back through his early 30's.

I don't know why owners decide to give up players like that but I see it more and more in various worlds. Heck of a pickup for your squad.

Yeah, bit of a head scratcher but considering you said you're in a merged world, is it more common to see that level of player up for grabs? Can't imagine it'd happen in either of the worlds I play in.

First, one of the other owners said he's the best offensive player in the league. I kind of believe that as you just don't see them often. Second, the guy trading him said he wanted to tear his team down and rebuild it because his current team sucks. That's fair but, at 27, I build around Beavan. However, he got a good load of prospects. It just may take 4-5 seasons to know if it worked for him. Some guys get caught in the eternal rebuild.

Post Jo-jo: 79 games, 322 runs, 28-51. Next to last in RS but went from 3.66 RS per game to 4.08. Also 10-7 in his 17 games.
12/19/2017 8:26 AM
120 games. 48-72 and averaging 3.94 runs per game.
1st 62 games without Jo-jo: 3.66 RS per game, .290 winning %
58 games with Jo-jo: 4.24 RS per game, .517 winning %

Roster mistakes can be fixed in season.

It also helps when someone is willing to trade you a perennial MVP.

I gave up a #4 and #5 overall. Also a supp pick. That's a lot if you would rather tank it up and figure it out later.
1/3/2018 12:47 PM
No I know that's very true. Just in some worlds I've been (Ok Just Riley) its like fort Knox. Guys like that just don't hit the market regardless of how good the deal is.

This past year in Riley I tried to add one more pitcher knowing I at least needed another #2 to stand any chance in the playoffs. I did what I normally do which is message all the teams swimming around the bottom about a deal. No one even wanted to take a look.

I ended up getting to the LCS which I was more shocked about then anyone, but now I'm getting my lunch money handed to me.
