Eckersley is a world that has typically rolled quickly due to a really solid group of competitive and dedicated, yet friendly owners. We’ve also got a pretty simple MWR that isn’t overbearing for those who are looking to rebuild a team but strong enough to deter any attempts at tanking. We’ve got two teams available this offseason. AL SOUTH:
Jackson (79-83)
Draft Slot: #14
Jackson is a team that is one year removed from winning the AL South with 93 wins. They have one of the best talents in the league in Ketel LaTorre and a pretty complete team surrounding him. With a few key free agent signings or trades, this squad could very easily be back in the playoffs.
AL WEST:
San Diego (68-94)
Draft Slot: #5
San Diego is now in what is really what would be year three of a rebuild, meaning a few solid minor leaguers are stockpiled and waiting for an owner who is looking to build a successful franchise while taking the long-view of things. Add in the fifth pick in this year’s draft and you’re looking good for the future. That being said, an aggressive FA signing period and a trade of those high level prospects could make the turn-around quite a bit quicker if that’s the way you’d like to go. Assets await the owner who grabs this squad.
