Is the first session prestige used in second session calculations or is the new prestige used?

I'm 99.9% certain your prestige entering a season is used for both RS1 and RS2.

this is a great question for a ticket

seble specifically stated during the beta that prestige changes affect all future recruiting actions but are not retroactive. Here's a link to the thread:

From the FAQ. This is also what I noticed with my SDSU team this season. It comes after the 2nd cycle when the new season starts on the world schedule.

What determines a school's prestige?
A:

At a high level, prestige is a reflection of a school's recent success in all areas. It is updated at the end of each season.

Possum and ftbeagles - I don't think you're understanding cubcub's question.

Prestige updates AFTER the NT Championship Game but before the RS2. Changes to prestige affect recruiting actions made during RS2 but are not applied retroactively to RS1 actions.

Here's another thread from beta confirming this:

My team dropped from B+ to B based on our performance in the 1st season. My question would be how did this effect the battle for a highly rated recruit I still was involved in going into the 2nd recruiting session with a new, lower prestige. Does the prestige dropping effect how much weight my previous recruiting actions had on the recruit or would it only have an impact on future recruiting actions?

Seems like another reason it could be good to know when the recruit might sign. If I am having a bad season and know a recruit will sign in the 1st session, before my prestige drops, it would be smart to go after a player like that. On the flip side if I know my prestige is going to improve it could be smarter to look at guys who will be signing in the 2nd session.

This is just something I thought about after I noticed my prestige dropped and obviously not an aspect of prestige we had to think about with the current game.

My texas A&M went from B+ to A-, will that change my status with recruits immediately, or going forward this session, or not until next season?

Also, trying for a 2 for 1 request, how do interest pts work? Is there a limit, or once a team is very high with maxed out recruiting effort, promises made, and nearly 500 or 1000 interest pts in, do they not help and should the interest pts change to other options?

It will impact any future recruiting actions, but is not retroactive.

Attention points continue to gain you credit indefinitely, so whether to leave them or move them depends on where you stand with all your battles. Remember that odds of signing are based on total credit, so even if you're Very High, there is benefit to building more credit, assuming there is at least one other team at High or Very High.

what is he asking then? Sound like he's asking if the new prestige is applied to RS2 actions ...

Just reread it again... you're right. My bad!

thanks for posting that

The most compelling argument for my answer is if you're a C- team in RS1, are "good" for 'wants rebuild,'have a great run in the national tournament and get to B+ or A- after the season, you are still listed as "good" for 'wants rebuild' in RS2.
11/21/2017 9:12 PM
My second most compelling argument is I knew I was getting a prestige bump so I waited until RS2 send all HV/CVpromises to a kid. He had no preferences and APs were something like 800 to 820. In RS1 the other school had a 2/3 letter grade in prestige advantage over me. In RS2 I had a 2/3 advantage over the other school. When the kid signed the other school bettered my signing odds 58-42.

Like I said my San Diego State team was still an A- in second cycle recruiting. When the new season started on 11/2 My prestige jumped up to an A. Mentioned that it must have changed in the conference chat for going up so late. Couldn't figure why I couldn't get to an A prestige with this kind of record for four seasons (95, 96, 97, 98). Checked the FAQ at that time and saw that it said what I posted. That A prestige for the 2nd cycle might have gotten me the one more stud I needed instead of taking a flyer on Nichols. Is mine the only one that waited until the new season to change?
