Unfortunately it took about 6-7 posts too many for me to realize that indeed JT is a giant dummy. My bad.

You make good points throughout the thread, but also engage in petty bickering with cccp where intelligence seems to go on break.

Lesson #1: When being called an idiot/moron/dummy, always consider the source. If they have an IQ under 40, it's probably a compliment.

Seriously, next thing you know he'll be forming opinions about someone's character, based on Hollywood movies!

LOL you got me. But I thought that Cobb movie was based on a factual biography. I didn't realize it was more or less fictionalized.

Research is a powerful thing. Though I know Google can be a challenge for some folks.

Cobb came out in 1994. The Internet was not really prevalent then and I have not watched it or thought about much since, until now. To your point I may do some more research now and see about that aforementioned biography.

Oh man, Obama and the economy doing well. Good laugh
You said the only thing that matters to you is the stock market...did the market go up over 300 percent under Obama or not?
Well alright, I guess I just misspoke.

You got me there.

Point is that how the economy is doing is most important to me. The economy stalled under Obama, its booming under Trump.
Just a heads up, this is technically still Obama’s economy.
The economy can't sit stagnant for 8 years under a president and when it turns around under a new admin it still be his economy. If we had steady progression under Obama then you could still count this as his economy. The economy is getting better mainly because of deregulation that was crippling business. It took a turn for the better when he left office and Trump immediately started rolling back the regulations. Obama had the worst post-recession recovery in our countries history. Dems also want to say "look at the mess that Obama took over." They can't use that argument because Reagan took over an even worse mess and had a MUCH better recovery.

I think discussing the success and failures of BHO is difficult and subjective. What is factual is this:
  • While in office the Democratic party was in fact decimated. Specifically losing ~900 state legislature seats, 12 governors, 69 house seats and 13 senate seats. One could argue that the Republican party has never been more powerful and the POTUS one could argue is BHO's polar opposite in DJT.
  • He publicly endorsed HRC and stated she was the most qualified candidate of all time. The country decided to elect someone who never held public office rather than the aforementioned "most qualified candidate of all time".
These are facts.

The economy is not subjective. There are facts and figures that both sides consider good indicators. Obama and Trump's impacts on the economy are subjective, but it has long been understood that the president takes the credit or blame for the national economy.

We are on the same page. The numbers are what they are but credit is tough to gauge as DJT has only been in office for 11 months. BHO was in office for eight years. But the facts I posted are indisputable.

It didn’t sit stagnant for 8 years. It’s been progressing the entire time. Reagan spent at a much higher rate than Obama, helping growth.

Were there not two major tax cuts under Reagan? Any tax cuts under BHO?
