D1 recruiting is a *****.

Hopefully I figure it out in a few seasons...or at least have enough success to land a job out of New England and back on the West Coast.

the mid-atlantic and new england areas can be really tough when there are a lot of human coaches around.

Seeing that I'm targeting a New England school when I get to D1, this is not very assuring news.

Signings haven't even started yet, so there's still time for me to salvage the class...but damn, it is significantly different from recruiting at the lower levels.

If I had it to do over again, I would have targeted one recruit in the 50-100 range that was a great fit and then put 80 AP on him the first cycle. Trying to jump on 4 different recruits was not the correct strategy.

Go out west or down south or anywhere not between Virginia and Maine.

You think part 1 is tough at D1, just wait until you wade into part 2. You will start speaking in an all new vocabulary of mainly four letter words!

Yup.

Are you sure it's different/harder? I mean, several non-D1 coaches have told users it's no different than D2 or D3.

If you want to move out west in Rupp the Mountain West Conference has some nice landing spots.

D3 is a *****. No such thing as a battle, guy will end up offering a starting spot just to win and then there is nothing u can do. Only one CV lol.

Recruiting is recruiting. It's different like throwing a football, baseball or rock. It's still throwing.

So, yeah, I'm one of those you're referring to.

Oddly enough, I see some of those "You don't know until you're there" guys saying that you need to work your way to D1 because you need to learn how to play the game. If recruiting is so different, what in the hell are you learning in D2/D3? Because I know I've seen established vets say recruiting is around 80%, if not more, of the game. And since virtually no one ******* about upsets in gameplay but almost everyone gripes when they lose a recruiting "dice roll", that 80% must be pretty damn close.

People ***** about upsets a lot. Check conference chats.

If you can't take the time to do it in the forums, it's just a mild complaint. ******** is a forum thang.

D3 is easy. Lose out on a guy? Move on to one of the 3700 completely unrecruited D2 and D1 players.
