Maybe I'm overlooking something real easy. Is there any way to determine which pitches my hitters are more/less effective against? Otherwise, what difference does it make what a pitcher's repertoire is?

The types of pitches a pitcher throws is purely cosmetic. If a guy throws a knuckleball or a knuckle sandwich it's the same thing to a hitter.

In the last developer chat they mentioned that certain pitches lead to more groundballs and certain ones lead to more flyballs but they develop a pitchers GB/FB ratio first and populate the pitches based off of that.

So its totally estetic.
