It's been a while since I ran a multi-round $$$ tournament. I've had this idea in the queue for a while and thought this would be a good time to run it. This will be a popular tournament and I expect it to fill quickly.

There will be six 16-team leagues running simultaneously (this is Round 1).
You may play up to six teams (one per league), but aren’t required to play more than one team.
The 24 division winners from the six Round 1 leagues will advance to the Round 2 (the Championship Round)

The prize will be $50 for the Round 2 World Series Champion.

League Name: Single-Season Team Draft Tournament (Round 1)
Salary Cap: $100 Million
League Size: 16 teams per league (6 leagues total)

Description: When you sign up, you pick which season(s) you want to draft from. You may choose up to six seasons, as long as they are in different leagues. The seasons available are 1994 thru 2017, grouped into six leagues, as follows…

League 1: 1994, 1995, 1996, 1997
League 2: 1998, 1999, 2000, 2001
League 3: 2002, 2003. 2004, 2005
League 4: 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009
League 5: 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013
League 6: 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017

Once any particular season has four owners, they will hold a short 5-round untimed draft, where they will draft entire teams from that season. Once a team has been drafted within a season, it’s off the board for the other three owners. So once a draft is over, twenty different teams (4 owners x 5 teams) will have been selected. Your final roster must include exactly FIVE players from each of the five teams you’ve selected.

Players who played on multiple teams in the same season:
For players who played on more than one team during the season, you must use the partial season version associated with your selected team. The only exception is if you drafted all the teams that the player played for during that season, you are allowed (but not required) to use the combined season. You may not however use clones, so if you drafted both 2010 Texas and Seattle, you can use the combined Cliff Lee season or either of his partials, but not both of his partials.

Draft Order:
The draft order will be determined randomly (for the first round of picks only). The draft order for rounds 2-5 will be based on reverse order of cumulative real-life winning percentage of the teams you’ve drafted to that point. If the record is tied, whomever drafted later in the previous round gets to draft earlier in the current round.

League Name: Round 2 - The Championship Round
Salary Cap: $100 Million
League Size: 24 teams

Description: The 24 division winners from round 1 will advance. If somebody chooses not to play in round 2, the owner with the next best team from that division will advance. You will NOT use your round 1 roster for round 2. Instead, you will build a brand new roster. There will be another 5-round team draft. The four teams within one division will each draft five entire teams from their specified years (i.e., 1994-1997 for NL East). It’s irrelevant which teams were used in round 1 – this is a brand new draft (all teams are eligible to be drafted). The team that won the World Series from round 1 gets first draft pick in round 1. The team that lost the World Series gets second pick. The best round 1 winning% between the other two playoff teams gets third pick. (Next tie-breaker is Exp win%). Starting in the second round of the draft, we revert back to the regular drafting rules (i.e., based on inverse order of drafted teams’ cumulative real-life winning%). The one difference in round 2 – You must draft at least one team from each year (which means one year will be represented with two teams).
