Redshirting with Promise Topic

It’s been a while so I can’t remember. If you offer a recruit a freshmen year start can you then redshirt him without a WE hit and just start him his redshirt freshmen year or not?

No. If you promise him a FR start he has to start his first year on the roster.

You can still get by with offering PT and doing an RS. In the email the player complains but no WE hit. Any promised start, FR or soph, must be kept.

Wow, is that true? I always assumed they needed to play if they had been promised PT.
