Here goes my first attempt at creating a theme. EDIT: Changing to less extreme caps and reducing the number of rounds to 14 for those who looked at this already and did not like the cap range (changes below in red). Changed to 30-minute intervals hoping that helps
There is a variation of pai gow poker that a friend and I would play on slow days at work (almost every day for that matter towards the end and yes, that office closed down due to lack of activity years ago). We would each get 10 cards dealt and create 3 poker hands from them (5 card, 3 card and 2 card) and whoever won at least 2 of the 3 hands would win the round.
So loosely based on that concept, here are the rules:
24 owner tournament
Each owner will play 3 simultaneous teams. One at 140mm cap, one at 120mm cap and one at 100mm cap.
There will be a mega draft in snake fashion consisting of 16 rounds:
Round 1-3 - one player taken
Round 4-6 - two players taken
Round 7-9 - three players taken
Round 10 -12 - four players taken
Round 13-14 - five players taken
Edit: Even though there will be so many multi-player rounds, we will go with 30-minute intervals. One full round per day.
After that draft in which 960 different players will be drafted, each owner will have 40 exclusive players.
Each owner will then create their 3 teams using only those 40 exclusive players.
However
1) There will be no clones allowed on any single team for those players that are used on more than one team, and
2) You cannot use the same player year on multiple teams.
3) Furthermore, you must use every player you drafted at least once.
Tournament scoring system will be identical to the WISC system:
1 point for each regular season win
5 points for getting into the playoffs
1 point for every playoff win
5 points for every playoff series won
At the end of the tournament, I will pay for a $50 GC for the winner.
Other specifics:
No DH, No WW, No AAA, No Trades, No Clones, No SLL, No <300k exception (must only use drafted players)
Injuries turned on
Multi-Team players: All seasons allowed (full, combined or partial)
Ballpark: Must use a park that one of your rostered players played in for each league
Division alignment - Random
