I had my pitching coach accept my offer and join my coaching staff this year, but his response was something along the lines of "I cant say anything about next year or the future, but I'm with you for this season and have decided to sign"
is this just random canned response roulette choice, or is it actually mean he probably wont return next year?
Just curious...

You don't know that. You don't have access to his financial records. He may not have found a world he likes yet so his credits are just sitting there.
