Youtube the cuts. One lady said she was rooting for only African American actors. Imagine someone saying I am only rooting for white actors. LOL.
I don’t think there is anything wrong with a black actress saying she’s rooting for black people to win Emmy awards.
I agree, but I don't think a white person should be belittled if they do the same.
That would be different. Sorry.
Double Standard.

Incredible.
It’s not really that incredible. White people are in power. White people almost always win the awards. Characters written for blacks and other POC get recast as whites for marketing purposes. The deck has been stacked pretty hard against POC.

We had an African American POTUS for eight years. Is that not a start? I mean I get racism and bigotry. I have faced it many a time but when can we just be people? You ignored my NBA question.

Would I be OK saying "I hope a Jewish persons wins"?

Y or N?

Historically African Americans win the MVP in the NBA. Would it be OK for a coach to say "I hope a white persons wins it"?

Y or N?
Eh, I don’t know. Have Jewish people been underrepresented in the film and television industries and faced discrimination in award nominations and wins like blacks have?
I have no idea. Who was the last Jew to win best actor?

What about part 2 of my question?
If you have no idea, then it probably isn’t an issue.

RE NBA MVP, that would not be ok. You just have to get used to the idea that some double standards are ok.
1/22/2018 6:43 PM
LOL --- OK

You don't see anything wrong with that? Do Jews ever make an issue out of anything? We simply persevere.

I am just curious where you got your moral compass? I am not insulting it but it is really out there and I need to understand your logic here.

double standards are never okay
1/22/2018 6:45 PM
No wylie, no no no. According to Mr. Bad Luck I have to get used to the idea that some are OK. Those that he deems are OK of course. LOL.

He is at least finally honest and I appreciate that. I take back what I said about him being a bad person and apologize profusely.

My logic is this:

Blacks have faced discrimination in our country since...well, forever. Because of that, it’s ok to root for them to win because blacks winning completely subjective awards for things like television and film means that our society is taking a step towards a better place.

Oh, I see...double standards that BL likes are okay. Double standards he does not like are not okay. Now I understand.

I 100% disagree but I appreciate and understand your view point.

Thank you and again please accept my apology.

You said some double standards are OK. "Some" means those you think are OK in your opinion. Otherwise what does "some" mean?

you can root for whomever you'd like. I can root for whomever I like. If someone wants to root for all white people to win that's okay too. Who really cares?

The LEFT

well, since many on here have called me a left leaning liberal, and I don't care, you're obviously wrong! LOL

Sure. For instance, complaining that Obama golfed too much but not holding Trump to the same standard would be an unacceptable (but extremely insignificant) double standard.

In this case, if it even qualifies as a double standard is up for debate. Rooting for black people to win awards that they haven't won because of discrimination doesn't really have a white flip-side. White people haven't faced prejudice, they've benefited from it.
