Highlighting the World Series Champion

I think the playoff points are wrong. It's supposed to be 5 points for making the playoffs and an additional 5 points for winning the World Series. So mildnhazy and I should start the playoffs with 40 points. Pedro/bigwig should start the playoffs with 35 points, then add an extra 5 for each WS won.
Good catch - had differing descriptions due to the pre-season change. Updated the posts on the previous page

So how are we going to do division alignment in round #2 (for both A and B)?

According to the original post, it says they would be divided based on league #s (1 thru 8, 9 thru 16) but there only 8 leagues total.

For round 2B, how will the 16 different franchises be split... overall record, alphabetically?.
4/3/2018 4:30 PM
Since both WS teams get in, I'm sure it will be

NL East
Lg 1 WS winner
Lg 1 WS loser
Lg 2 WS winner
Lg 2 WS loser

NL West
Lg 3 WS winner
Lg 3 WS loser
Lg 4 WS winner
Lg 4 WS loser

etc.

For the other league, it will be the same division alignment we used in Round 1.
4/3/2018 5:19 PM
Yep! schwarze is correct in both cases
4/3/2018 5:49 PM
Well guess that means I end up with two teams in the NL East then regardless of the outcome of the WS games.

Pedro is even worse as that means he'll likely have 3 teams in the AL (and with no-interleague, he's going to play himself a ton).
4/3/2018 6:14 PM (edited)
mildnhazy/schwarze, 8 playoff teams, 0 World Series wins (0 for 3)
pedrocerrano/njbigwig, 7 playoff teams, 4 World Series wins (4 for 5) - only loss was because they played each other

Congrats to the Franchise champions, pedrocerrano & njbigwig

Based on the proposed format, buddhagamer (NL East) and schwarze (AL West) will end up with both their teams in the same division and I'll have two teams in the AL East and one in the AL West.

I wouldn't mind a random alignment to split the teams.

Congrats to pedrocerrano and njbigwig! I'll send in a ticket to Admin this weekend to have prizes distributed

I am not really opposed to that on principle as long as there are no objections.

I am torn on this. I do understand why this would be something people would want. But having two world series losers, I was looking forward to getting to play against the teams that beat my teams a bunch of times.

How about this as an alternate solution. Odds and evens...

NL East
League 1 - Dodgers (83-79, buddhagamer) vs Indians (87-75, ozomatli)
League 3 - Reds (89-73, mpitt76) vs Yankees (96-66, CLWECW)

NL West
League 5 - Giants (108-54, pedrocerrano) vs White Sox (84-78, njbigwig)
League 7 - Reds (85-77, schwarze) vs Orioles (97-66, pedrocerrano)

AL East
League 2 - Giants (88-74, buddhagamer) vs Twins (85-77, d_rock)
League 4 - Giants (95-67, brianjw) vs Athletics (100-62, mildnhazy)

AL West
League 6 - Braves (96-66, brianjw) vs Athletics (101-61, pedrocerrano)
League 8 - Cubs (90-72, njbigwig) vs Indians (98-64, schwarze)

If you wanted, maybe even swap League 3 and league 5 (to split up pedro's two teams)

NL East
League 1 - Dodgers (83-79, buddhagamer) vs Indians (87-75, ozomatli)
League 5 - Giants (108-54, pedrocerrano) vs White Sox (84-78, njbigwig)

NL West
League 3 - Reds (89-73, mpitt76) vs Yankees (96-66, CLWECW)
League 7 - Reds (85-77, schwarze) vs Orioles (97-66, pedrocerrano)

AL East
League 2 - Giants (88-74, buddhagamer) vs Twins (85-77, d_rock)
League 4 - Giants (95-67, brianjw) vs Athletics (100-62, mildnhazy)

AL Weest
League 6 - Braves (96-66, brianjw) vs Athletics (101-61, pedrocerrano)
League 8 - Cubs (90-72, njbigwig) vs Indians (98-64, schwarze)
4/6/2018 3:53 PM (edited)
You could go even one step further, if you wanted it so no division had two of the same franchises... This alignment splits up the owners and the franchises.

NL East
League 1 - Dodgers (83-79, buddhagamer) vs Indians (87-75, ozomatli)
League 7 - Reds (85-77, schwarze) vs Orioles (97-66, pedrocerrano)

NL West
League 5 - Giants (108-54, pedrocerrano) vs White Sox (84-78, njbigwig)
League 3 - Reds (89-73, mpitt76) vs Yankees (96-66, CLWECW)

AL East
League 2 - Giants (88-74, buddhagamer) vs Twins (85-77, d_rock)
League 6 - Braves (96-66, brianjw) vs Athletics (101-61, pedrocerrano)

AL West
League 4 - Giants (95-67, brianjw) vs Athletics (100-62, mildnhazy)
League 8 - Cubs (90-72, njbigwig) vs Indians (98-64, schwarze)
