I would try to find someone similar in your world and try and see how they have done (obviously take park factors, etc. into account, but that's the best barometer is to find a similar player in your world).

I did try to find comps, and there's no one with such great contact/power/eye but such low splits. Hard one to peg.

He'll do better than you think because he'll walk so much. Unlikely he'll be more than .700 OPS unless you're in a hitter's park.

I keep an eye on guys like that because the splits often scare other owners off. But he needs to do something else for me. If he can play up the middle he gets a full time spot. If he can run he gets a full time bench spot. I honestly couldn't justify him at a corner full time position.

Edit: He can't run. So I'd need to see some fielding.

Not an exact match but high power/eye. Super consistent.

My guy wasn't as good and didn't have the eye. If he didn't get injured he may have had a career.

There are a ton of high power/high eye players, but the high power/eye/contact combo is pretty useful. Looking for the link, but had a guy similar to yours but with splits in the high 40's and he was a >.800 OPS guy.

The conundrum has layers. This guys is an elite defensive shortstop, but has an injury rating of 52. Tough.

That's an easy one for me. If you are in the AL put him in the 9th spot and play him everyday. In the NL probably 7th or 8th.

Max your medical to 20 million and if/when he gets injured, watch him turn into a monster.

If he's an elite defensive SS, it's not a conundrum at all. You play him. An elite defensive SS with a .700 OPS is golden.

Are those current or projected for him? I couldn't find him on your roster.

Projections.
