I doubt anyone is clamoring for a follow-up to this thread, but I thought it might be interesting for a few of you who commented to see. This thread was really helpful to me early on in learning how to judge progression and take a critical eye to projections. Here's what the guy has turned into as he nears his prime...

Player Profile: Richard Miller - Hardball Dynasty Baseball | WhatIfSports

I was pretty down on him after reading some of the comments here and traded him for, basically, a similar, more veteran player a couple of seasons ago. Probably a bad deal because I wasn't contending at that time, but the guy plays a decent role on the very good team I have now. Miller has come farther than I expected. I'm not sure what the ultimate lesson here is except that there are very few absolutes in this game.

I'd play em at SS and hope to break him a few times. If he fractured his leg even once with that health I could get him 4 points in range and speed. Now we're talking!

I would never play him at ss unless he was able to get to 85 + glove. Id paly him cf,2nd or 3rd. I like him and if he gains more glove then even better.

Wow, he developed into a really nice player... that's going to be what, about .250/.350/.430 and playable at SS? I'll take two if you have them.

He gained 33 points of glove without a DitR to get there. That's A LOT.

Yeah, I agree. The Glove was the question I remember. To me, now, he's entirely playable at SS. Good enough hitter that I'll live with the bobbles.
