Know-it-All of Sports
Think you know sports? Are you good at predicting games? Come show off your knowledge of sports and be crowned “Know-it-all of Sports.” I’m hosting a new game here on WIS. This is 100% free, but should be a fun and challenging contest.
Here’s how it works:
This is strictly an individual event and involves no teams or voting out of contestants and not near as time consuming as Survivor. I will pick sports events from football, basketball, golf, hockey, Winter Olympics, and other sports. I will set up challenges that may focus solely on one sport or combine two or more sports. There will be some challenges that last one day and others multiple days. Each participant will submit their individual challenge entry to me and the individual with the least points scored/worst score will be eliminated from the contest. There will be approximately 2 challenges per week. The winner of a challenge will gain a small advantage for the next challenge and the loser will be eliminated.
Example challenge 1:
How many points will Pittsburgh Steelers score?
(score 10 points if you are within 3 points, score 7 points if you are within 4-7 points, score 4 points if you are within 8-11 points, 0 points if you are more than 12 points off, 20 points if you predict exact points scored)
How many yards will Ben Rothlisberger throw for?
(score 10 points if you are within 20 yards, score 7 points if you are within 21-40 yards, score 4 points if you are within 41-50 yards, 0 points if you are more than 51 yards off, 20 points if you predict exact yards)
How many points will Minnesota Vikings score?
(score 10 points if you are within 3 points, score 7 points if you are within 4-7 points, score 4 points if you are within 8-11 points, 0 points if you are more than 12 points off, 20 points if you predict exact points scored)
Choose any 3 NBA players from Sunday’s games that will combine for 50 points.
(If your 3 players combine for exactly 50 points, you score 20 points; +/- 3 points earns 10 points; =/- 4,5, or 6 points earns you 7 points; +/- 7, 8, or 9 points earns 4 points and 0 points for missing by 10 or more)
Choose 2 golfers playing in Sony Open and you will score their total score under par for the final round.
A 74 is not 74 points but loses you 2 points for being 2 over par whereas a score of 66 earns you 6 points.
Tiebreaker- (will be used to break a tie for winner and/or loser of a challenge)
1. Which college team playing Sunday will score the most points?
2. How many points will that team score?
The contestant with the highest amount of points scored will be the winner of this challenge and will earn a small advantage in the next challenge and the contestant scoring the fewest points will be eliminated from the game.
This should be a lot of fun and let's see who is the real know-it-all of sports. Sign up in this thread!
