Yep that was me. 2 huge blunders 2 challenges in a row...barely staying alive. I haven't been following this season super close bc I've been gone quite a bit underway on a ship.

So what do we get for the total points part of the all star game? There was no point value associated with it.

Oooops, missed that. Exact points = 20 pts; 1-5 = 10 pts; 6-10 = 5 pts; 11-15 = 2 pts

Working on results of AS game now

Results of Challenge #6
darny10 did an excellent job on the NBA All-Star Game picks (LeBron led the way with 73 points- 29 points, 10 rebounds, 8 assists) and got 169 points in that section and ended up with 187 points.
However, stalagna came up with the same team and totaled 190 points to win this challenge.

I probably overdid the points on the NBA portion of this challenge. I did want it to be the focal point but maybe not quite so extreme.

Challenge #7- Ice and Hoops
Part I- Ice Hockey
The US women will play the winner of Canada/OAR for the gold medal on Wednesday night. Predict the winner (10 points) and how many total goals will be scored by both teams.
Exact goals = 5 pts; +/- 1 = 3 points; +/- 2 = 1 point
There are also 3 NHL games on Wednesday. Choose over/under for each contest. 5 points for correct guess, ties receive no points.
Ottawa at Chicago – 8 penalty minutes combined
Dallas at Anaheim – 5 goals scored combined
Calgary at Las Vegas – 60 shots on goal combined

Part II- College Hoops
Use AP Top 25 Rankings
1. Choose 1 team from top 25 and predict how many points they will score. You will start with 20 points and lose a point for each point you miss your score. For example if I take Virginia and predict 90 points and they score 80 then I would score 10 points.
2. For the following games predict the winner straight up. You get 2 points if you choose the ranked team and they win or if you choose the unranked team and they win, you score 5 points.

Challenge #8: Olympics Finale

This challenge is time sensitive and a short turnaround so I need picks by tomorrow night midnight EST.

USA plays Sweden for gold in men’s curling. Who wins gold? Swedes are the favorite and if you choose them and win you get 10 points but if you take the US and they win you get 15 points.
How many points will be scored between the two teams in the match? Exact = 10 points; 1 off = 7 points; 2 off = 5 points; 3 off = 2 points
RISK: will any team score 3 or more points in an end? You can gamble yes and win an additional 10 points but if no team scores 3 in one end you lose 10 points.

Gold Medal Men’s Ice Hockey- which country wins (10 points) and how many goals will both teams score?
Exact = 5 points; 1 off = 3 points; 2 off = 1 point

Gold Medal 4-Man Bobsled: predict which countries will win a medal. You will choose 3 countries and get 5 points for each country that wins a medal. Predict the gold, silver, and bronze medals and if you get exact order correct you get 10 bonus points.

1. Choose a golfer from Honda Classic that will shoot the lowest round Saturday.
2. How many points will Thunder and Warriors combine for on Saturday?

Congrats to Team USA curling!! Only 2 of you picked USA to win and it paid off and da_goat was the only one to take the gamble and got it. I really put that out there as a sucker bet but looks like it came through as a 5 point end no less. Hahaha!
