So this may have been asked before but does anyone know what actually is taken into account on kickoff/punt returns? I practice 15 min into special teams and my team isn't young or anything. In my first 3 games I have given up an 80 yard punt return for a TD, to a win. Then I have given up back to back 99 punt return touchdowns in the last 2 games. Am I just having bad luck?

Return game is overly juiced in GD. Last season I had a game where three straight plays were punt/kick return TDs. Meanwhile I haven't seen a pick six in years... but I digress.

I'd say you're just having bad luck.

So that begs the question, what if you didn't put any minutes into Special Teams? What's the reward/risk?

Yeah, you don't want to be so weak on special teams that you're giving up a 1-2 return TD differential per game.
