I prefer D1 because of the challenges that come with recruiting and rising up the ranks. Dealing with recruiting at D1 is a bit like gambling in Vegas. No strategy is guaranteed to work 100% of the time so you just have to let it roll and live with the results. When to go all in, When to hold a little back, When to fold,......Sometimes I bust out The Gambler (by Kenny Rogers) when I am thinking about what to do. It just seems to fit. EEs are just another game at the casino you play.
D2/D3 are fun in their own ways but the recruiting at those levels drags it down for me. Seems like a lot of D2/D3 recruiting is plant your flag and hope a higher division school doesn't knock you off. Sure there is some strategy in it but it doesn't have the same appeal to me.
