Brewers - Yelich breaks kneecap Topic

Trade four prospects for Yelich, give Cain a 5-year, $80M deal.

I like the Yelich trade, not so thrilled about Cain, especially after acquiring Yelich. I suppose this means Domingo Santana will be traded, hopefully for a pitcher.

Brew crew traded Brinson. They will regret that.

They're going for it now. I expect they'll make a push for another starter soon, whether through trade or free agency.

Just say one of your fantasy baseball buddies. That’s what I did when Crazy told me Morton was a dark horse for Cy Young. I scoffed at it and insulted Morton after watching many of his starts in the first half. He turned it on in the 2nd half and postseason and I have been giving credit where credit is due.

Spring training has started. With Nelson still rehabbing his shoulder and with no firm estimate of when he might return, the Crew has the following group battling for the #4 and #5 spots in the rotation behind Chase Anderson, Jhoulys Chacin, and Zach Davies:

Yovanni Gallardo
Brent Suter
Wade Miley
Brandon Woodruff
Junior Guerra
Aaron Wilkerson

For a team seemingly signaling that it's ready to compete after acquiring Cain and Yelich, this seems very odd. Maybe they're waiting for someone's price to come down, but it still seems likely that the Brewers need to overpay a free agent to get them to Milwaukee so that may be a counterproductive strategy.

Bartolo Colon would've been a natural fit in Milwaukee!

you'd have to pay me a lot to get me to Milwaukee

This is odd to me. Seems like a weird time to try and compete. Kinda figured they’d be like the Bucks...in perpetual mediocrity.

That was me.

I was gonna call you an insulting name at the end of that sentence, but I didn't. You're welcome.

Yeah my b. Idk where I got crazy from. He stays away from the cancer that is MLB forum. He sticks to SLB

edit: wait, I just read that last part. Am I supposed to be grateful you didn’t call me a name?

Losing 8-0 (box score) to the Chicago Cubs on Thursday was only the second worst part of the night for the Milwaukee Brewers.

Corey Knebel, Milwaukee's All-Star closer, suffered a potentially serious looking hamstring injury while getting some work in during the blowout loss. He collapsed after throwing a pitch and had to be carried off the field.

The good news is Knebel did not re-injure his left knee, which gave him some trouble in spring training. The bad news is Knebel couldn't put any weight on his leg at all. The Brewers have already said Knebel is going on the disabled list.
